I don’t think so. I’m not particularly a fan, but he was very successful. He did have some great songs.

When you can come up with a original sound and mix it with pop sensibility (he had multiple #1's)...THAT is a very very difficult thing to do and commands respect from all musicians.

No. Just watch his Super Bowl performance to see how talented his is and then add in all the songs that others have had hits with with songs he wrote and he was one of the greatest artist of all time.

89.3 the current just spent the whole day dedicated to Prince. They rarely played his music before his death (perhaps a song or two), but now they gush over him.

After hearing his music for hours, I can assure you that he is overrated. Talented and definitely overrated.

I mean the only song i actually heard of is Purple Rain and i cant even think of how that goes. Prince is trash overrated by people reminiscing on when they were stupid.
