While you may have somewhat of a point (especially with Al Sharpton and Joy Behar..the others I don't pay too much attention to)..but..I'm a white centralist and I've always found myself more sensitive to black or anti-semitic comments or jokes myself..Even before the current trend.
But I'm also a centralist now because I find both the left and the right too extreme and lacking common sense. We live in an age of immediate public saturation and retribution whether it be a comment or an allegation. Like it or not.
No doubt there's a huge discrepancy in what delivers the consequences. I don't disagree that all hate speech or unpleasant comments should have consequences... but without censorship (and I don't advocate that) the consequence depends on the public and medias loudest reaction. It's kind of like people complaining about how much celebrities make while contributing to their fortune.
No one really cares what anyone says about Trump ..it would seem. There are many areas that can be knocked without retribution. But I'm hopeful that one day peoples sensitivities won't be so inclusive. In the meantime, I refuse to be pushed to be extreme myself.
Still..Rosanne's comment wasn't just racist but idiotic and childish. It makes you wonder about her state of mind. I haven't followed her shenanigans or watched her show but I can't help wondering what's wrong with her.
I was wondering if she drinks or has some kind of mental condition. It doesn't make sense that someone that has managed her degree of success could be so incredibly infantile and stupid...much less racist. It's not even marginally clever or funny..
To be honest, I sometimes thought similar things about Trumps (infantile and idiotic) tweets when I paid attention.
Twitter just doesn't do much for most people that use it.
They should stop...and think.
