Terrible career

I absolutely loved her in Meet Joe Black. And then her career plummeted. What happened?

Yup

She's definitely had an underwhelming career, which is a shame, as I loved her in Meet Joe Black when I was a kid. She certainly had the looks & I found her performance very charming. She also had one of the best American accents I've heard from a U.K. actress. I had no idea she was British until years later. It was the first thing I ever saw her in and she seemed poised to have a successful career as a famous lead actress but it turned out to be the peak of her career. To my knowledge she never landed a role nearly that big ever again.

Antitrust was a fun film and she had a prominent role in that one. If you haven't seen it, and you enjoy turn-of-the-century tech thrillers and/or you like Ryan Phillippe, you should check it out.

I didn't say she never had a prominent role in anything again. Just nothing approaching a Meet Joe Black level film. I vaguely recall seeing a few TV spot trailers for Antitrust back in the day but I didn't get the impression that it was any sort of major film. She must not have been featured too heavily in the trailer because I can again only vaguely recall Ryan Phillippe & the girl from She's All That being the featured leads

I actually didn't even know she was in Meet Joe Black. I watched that film once, thought it was okay but nothing great, and promptly forgot about it. Antitrust, however, I watched a lot when I was younger and owned it on DVD.

Claire has as big of a role in Antitrust as Rachael Leigh Cook does. There are four main characters in that film, those of Phillippe, Claire, Cook and Tim Robbins.

It's kind of a B-movie--just a fun thriller, nothing to take too seriously--but I've always been a fan and have always thought it was under-appreciated. And it's the film I immediately think of when I think of Claire Forlani.

I'll be honest, I thought her high point was the Dewars ads.
