I agree, Millennials are lazy whiny little bitches.

There are certainly problems with the millennial generation, but he's just acting like a grumpy, old man who seems to believe he can do no wrong himself.

Also, he must be losing his vision, because I see senior citizens spending more time on their phones than I do.

He's just stirring things up as he did with his comic book movie comment. It's a way to get attention for his next offering, House of Gucci. But there's a valid point buried beneath the headline.

movies like this should go directly to streaming and dvd at this point.

When was the last time a movie like this was actually extremely succesful? This doesn't even seem to be anything like Gladiator.

The King (2019) had a limited release and then on Netflix a few weeks later. That sounds like the right strategy for these historical dramas.

Ridley has never been a box office champion, with few exceptions (Alien, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator...). His movies are made for mature audiences, not for teenage growd. Its a bad business to make expensive movies for lonely old farts. Teenagers bring friends to cinema and kids bring whole families.

TLD is a terrible super boring preachy movie ...Nobody asked for a medieval #metoo. Some movies are just a terrible idea and a waste of money and time. There are great historical instances that can be adapted like the Fall of Constantinople in 1204 or 1453 but noooope Ridley wanted his medieval neofeminist metoo flick...

Yep. The movie was a turd. It could have been better than it was but it took too much of a woke warrior direction and just ended up sucking ass. I wanted to like it going in but it just couldn't be true to the history.

He's partially right...

The movie is really good, but it is not a movie for mouth breathing "bruh" saying, phone-staring gen-Z teens that think the Transformers series forms the pinnacle of cinema.
It is a movie for adults that are not afraid to use their brains while watching a movie and who can do without constant explosions.

It is unfortunate that it bombed like it did because it really should not have. It has amazing points that speak for it, from practical effects over acting over lighting, cinematography and sound effects, it's on point.

But Gen-Z, where the money is, does not care about this.
However, Scott should have known this...

Good movies bomb a lot and gain popularity later.
A movie bombing doesn't mean the movie is bad. It's almost the contrary these days. Almost....

When you make something that isn't mindless superhero stuff, it gets tough to get it seen.
