No, he's not dead, but what do you think about the films he's released during this time frame? He's done some good ones like Minority Report and Catch Me if You Can , but I feel his career was better before this era.

I wish he'd stop wasting time on things like The Fablemans, West Side Story & Ready Player One and do more Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan & Munich type films. He can't have that many movies left to direct so should choose wisely.

I think he's still capable. Bridge of Spies wasn't that long ago.

I would say 2008 was the start of his decline in quality as a filmmaker with the 4th Indiana Jones movie. The early 2000s had great movies like AI, Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report, Terminal, and Munich.

I think even earlier. 2005 he did Munich. I can't think of that many good ones after.

Yeah, Munich was his last great one. It seems like all the ones since hsve either been Oscar bait or Spielberg trying to capture the “old Spielberg”
