MC - What is your favorite Spielberg film?

Jaws
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler's List
The Color Purple
Raiders

Minority Report was good too... I think I liked the Sugarland Express, but I don't really remember it... saw it on TV when I was a kid. Can enjoy almost all his movies but don't think I've really liked one since Catch Me If You Can

MC here! Strictly as a director? And since you've provided a list rather than a single film, here's my list:

Duel
E.T.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Close Encounters
Jaws
Empire of the Sun
Catch Me If You Can
War of the Worlds

reply

Duel was a great early one... Sugarland Express was good too... sometimes I wish Spielberg would make some smaller indie type films so people can be reminded that he's more than a big budget action director.

reply

I don't think he's ever really taken us into space before as a film director. I think it's time he made a motion picture set in space and takes us to other worlds.

reply

True although he did Close Encounters, War of the Worlds, Minority Report so he's done some sci-fi... would definitely love to see that though.

He has a billion dollars!

reply

Catch Me If You Can is his best, but a close second would be A.I. and Munich...

He has an astonishing record... So many quality films, but his best are when he got over his daddy issues... Now if only the rest of hollywood could get over it as well it would be a refreshing change to movies...

I'm gonna go all the way back to the beginning with Duel.
