Shocked she is coming back to the Thor series

Hearing about the way she behaved, treated, and how uncooperative she was on Thor: The Dark World I am shocked anyone is allowing her back into the Marvel Universe. Also kind of thought her story was wrapped up already. She broke up with Thor so there is no reason for her to be in the movies.

ITS NATALIE PORTMAN...WE'LL MAKE IT WORK.

reply

She left and she was right to be mad at Marvel. Now she comes back only because she will play the new Thor

reply

I was going to say, she's going to be Thor! She's going to weild the hammer, which is only right. Women can do anything a man can do, only better. Including fight!

reply

she's pretty small. they better utilize every trick in the book to make her appear otherwise.

reply

You are correct, women are better at the Can Can

reply

Ha. Got to turn off that damn autocorrect.

I heard she was such a brat when they were filming "Thor: The Dark World," and it showed in Jane's behavior. But I did read why she was like that.

Natalie Portman heard that Patty Jenkins (who is now famous for directing "Wonder Woman,") was going to be directing "Thor: The Dark World," and she wanted to work with her. Natalie happily signed onto the project with a contract. However, things fell through, and Patty left, causing another director (probably a male one) to come in and take over. Natalie was furious, and stuck in a contract she couldn't get out of. So she made life miserable for everyone while they were filming. She sort of was clever in channeling her anger into Jane's reaction towards having the Aether stuck in her, or trying to handle what was going on around her; but honestly, even when acting, you could tell Natalie didn't want to be there. She got off the set as quickly as she could manage, and wouldn't even come back for a re-shoot of Jane kissing Thor. They had to have Chris Hemsworth's wife be a stand-in for a back shot of Jane.

Then you hear that she outright refused to come back for "Thor: Ragnarok," so they wrote in that she dumped him. It was one of several reasons I didn't want to see that particular Thor film.

I think the only reason she's coming back is because the asshole who produced and directed "Thor: Ragnarok" probably got down on his knees and begged her, offering her a huge salary and fame that Jane had been denied all this time.

You explained it perfectly. To be honest, though I liked Thor: Ragnarok a lot and absolutely despised Thor: The Dark World. I would go so far as to call it the worst of the MCU films. Even Christopher Eccleston who played the main antagonist hated the film and the director Alan Taylor says he is not proud of the movie at all (and he should not be because it is garbage).

reply

It's pretty much the worst MCU installment. I didn't know Portman's behavior was that bad. But after her rude comments at the GG a couple years back, I can see it.

reply

She was never a good choice for Jane Foster. She is a B grade actress with a few gems behind her. The story line in the comic that they are covering in this new Thor movie is not good.

Five years ago I would not have guessed that I would be completely done with capeshit. I'm done.

reply

I was surprised too. Not that she wanted to come back because obviously it's for the $$$$$$, but that the MCU team decided to bring her back instead of just recasting. But, continuality is important to the MCU so I guess they don't mind and they have all the money anyway.

Yes, they easily could have done what they did to Terrence Howard by saying the movie will be successful with or without you. I mean the third film was very successful and received better reviews than both of the past two films. They easily could have said she was too difficult in the past and not worth the effort.
