he clearly has talent as an actor i hope Mel can make a comeback, but from his imdb page his last 18 films from the last 10 years all seem to be crap hovering around 5.5-6 out of 10

america loves sucking its own DIck about how awesome it was in WW2 so no surprise that got praise. but all those movies (besides passion and apocalpto) were 10 years apart.

For me Dragged Across Concrete is one of his best movies. I absolutely loved it.

I recommend reading his books in the meantime: they're really good and the writing is very much like that of his films (but more violent...). I'd recommend starting with 'A Congregation of Jackals'. It's good stuff (and easy to read).
