...Clogging up Fox News? I want to see THE NEWS, not 2 spoiled elites trash each other and air their dirty linen.

My guess is that it's an attempt by the network to paint Hollywood (which is by and large liberal) as disgusting, violent and immoral.

They are covering it because it is popular on Twitter and everywhere else. People obsessively watch the trial live on the internet or clips of it afterward. They post their opinions. It is interesting no matter what your political beliefs because it is the old he said-she said dilemma. People want to see the evidence and decide what is real and what isn't I remember a few months ago the gossip was that he was a horrible abuser. Me too movement and all that. Now with evidence being presented, it got turned around and we saw that she is the abuser as well as a liar and a grifter and a psycho. It's more interesting than anything on tv or netflix now. That's why they have to mention it on the news.

This is something all of us inhabitants of The US must remember, the next time we get the urge to gripe exhaustively about how awful life supposedly is. For all of the flaws that exist in our civilization, we're one of the few places on Earth were folks have the luxury of pissing away our lives fretting over Depp and Heard

Aside from others have said, there might be some politics involved.

Heard and Depps Trial has been a huge blow to the Metoo movement. The concept of “we should just believe women” has been flushed down the toilet.

Fox News, being a rightwing news station, is taking advantage of this fiasco because it benefits their agenda.

I don’t blame them. Amber Heard has single handedly destroyed Metoo.
