Favorite Bogart movies ?

My goodness, if we have a Bogart thread siting, we need to talk about this famous man.
I really dislike trying to winnow many great performances into one favorite, so two worth mentioning are To Have and Have Not and The Big Sleep. There are others more obvious.

I mentioned To Have and Have Not because I think it's the movie where Lauren Bacall keeps calling Bogie "Steve" (for "stevedore" not his name) and has the famous whistling scene.

Not even sure why you might think that. So many great movies Bogie was in.
Another great early one is The Petrified Forest with Bette Davis and Lesley Howard.

I also like The Petrified Forest.

I've seen them all and they were great! I also loved the movies he made with Lauren Bacall. Their attraction to each other was clear in To Have and Have Not.

Have a look at Wikipedia for an explanation of the plot. It's been so long since I've seen the film I really couldn't tell you.

In no particular order:

The Big Sleep
The Maltese Falcon
High Sierra
In a Lonely Place
Key Largo
Sahara
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Dark Passage
The Two Mrs. Carrolls
They Drive by Night
Casablanca
Sabrina
The Caine Mutiny

I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to watch Sierra Madre in it's entirety.
Maybe I have but I'd like to do it again. Caine I'm pretty familiar with. Mr. Roberts is a little bit similar.
Concerning Caine, and likely other roles like The Desperate Hours, he was willing to play an unsympathetic character with zeal.
Isn't it Van Johnson in Caine who comes to defend Bogart at the very last? Very moving.

The African Queen was a fine one
Treasure of the Sierra Madre

So hard to narrow a few faves down because he had so many good films!

But I'll go with:

Casablanca
To Have and Have Not
The Maltese Falcon
Dark Passage
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
The Big Sleep

The Desperate Hours (1955)
