It's rather open-ended. It doesn't really offer a sense of closure to me, because there's still the glaringly obvious problem of what comes next. Which is that Chris is arrested for all the murders, quite possibly Rod as well. Because there's no way Chris didn't leave forensic evidence, and the authorities won't believe the truth.
shareWell, this is not so much the point of the movie. But anyway he didn't kill Georgina (she died when the car crashed). He didn't even shoot Rose. Walter's fingerprints are on the rifle. He killed Dean, Missy and Jeremy, but their place is on fire and it's not at all clear that evidence will survive that. There are no living witnesses to him killing them either. Do the cult members really want to bring the police into this situation?
shareChris' fingerprints are on the rifle too. He was actually the last person to touch it when he moved it away from Rose. Even before that scene I told my wife "he's going to jail for all these murders...black guy in white community and all the whites are dead. When he touched the gun I thought "no doubt...he's getting pegged".
shareHe has a good argument for self-defense. His friend was a witness and his friend reported him missing, not to mention the other person Chris and his friend knew who Chris happen to run into while visiting there. I believe Chris also took a picture of him. On top of that, I think Chris had injuries on him.
shareYa I was speaking prior to the friend showing back up. When they showed him touching the gun right on the trigger I figured there was going to be a sour ending. Not that I would have minded that ending.

shareI had problems with the ending too. So in the end was the goal to hypnotize black people or lobotomize them? And I got very confused about the final message- was the movie trying to say white people are still racist toward blacks or are they trying to point out the advantage of trying to be black. It just kinda ended with a big gory blood bath when I think a more psychological approach could have been better. But I liked the movie til then.

Walter's and Georgina's bodies are evidence. You could clearly see the scar from the brain surgery across Walter's forehead. Georgina's head was probably also scarred. An autopsy would probably show that there had been surgery on their brains. Plus, the police would notify Walter's and Georgina's families of their deaths. Then it would come out that the families had no idea Walter and Georgina had been working there and that the families had reported them missing.
Also, that family of murderers would have had a ton of money from the auctions. The police would trace the money to find out where it came from. The blind man's payment to the family would link him to the family. The payment from the old man who took over the other kidnapped man would also be traced.
So while the truth might be too unbelievable and hard to prove, it'd be provable that the family was kidnapping people. 3 missing people would be traced directly to that family. As the 4th kidnapped black person, Chris would would be off the hook due to self-defense.
