I'll give him 7/10, but it's interesting with him. I've only seen 4 of his movies ("The Wedding Singer," "Happy Gilmore," "The Waterboy," and "Punch Drunk Love") and really love 3 of the 4 (I thought "Punch Drunk Love" was OK and Sandler is really good in it, but I wasn't all that crazy about it). Of the three I love, I thought his best performance was in "The Wedding Singer." But his movies are so well-casted and it's the supporting cast who really do the "heavy lifting" in his movies, IMO.

reply

YOU HIT ALL THE TOP FLICKS...I DO BELIEVE THOSE WOULD BE MY TOP FOUR SANDMAN FLICKS...SOME OFTHE OTHERS ARE A LOT OF FUN...BUT NOT AS GOOD....THE WEDDING SINGER IS ON MY TOP 100 ALL-TIME MOVIES LIST.

reply

Yes... I've never seen "Anger Management" and want to, because it has Jack Nicholson in it. I just have never been able to just sit down and watch it.

He's an interesting guy...I never expected him to be the "movie star" that he became when I watched him on "Saturday Night Live." I liked him and thought some of his comedy was funny... he's one of those that is kind of "hit & miss" with me. But, when he connects, he knocks it out of the park!

reply

I love Punch-Drunk Love and Happy Gilmore is a guilty pleasure. He can be talented, but in his comedies I feel like he tries too hard. That stupid voice he does gets annoying.

reply

Yes, I'm not a real big fan of that either. I don't think he's really all that funny in "Happy Gilmore" and "The Waterboy," to be honest. In "Happy Gilmore," for example, I think the comedy mostly comes from Christopher MacDonald (who doesn't love Shooter McGavin? ๐Ÿ˜€), Richard Kiel, and Carl Weathers. Happy really isn't all that compelling of a character, IMO. But, yet, the movie works...and I love it!

reply

Happy Gilmore 2 is coming out, and I expect to see lots of Shooter. It won't be the same without him.

Signed, million man

I missed Hugh Grant too.

Sandler 5/10 heโ€™s ok for what he does.

Ok, so I've only watched Adam Sandler in one movie ever and the title of it was "UNCUT GEMS" It should be noted that this movie is pretty depressing for what it's worth and pretty chaotic in every scene that would give a person a panic attack at so much going on.. Adam Sandler played this incredibly straight and was truly outside the box with what we've been accustomed to seeing from him.. After watching this movie, I'd rate him 8/10.. Too bad the movie didn't end on an upper, more positive vibe

reply

That's the film people like him in the most. I prefer him in Punch-Drunk Love though.

reply

The man can act if it calls for him to, but people really loved him more in UNCUT GEMS?? Really?? If the movie would've ended with Howard having a happy ending, I probably would watch it again, but the way it ended was simply fucked up

6 out 10

His earlier movies usually made me laugh.

You have to give him credit for lasting as long as he has - he's a one trick pony with long lasting legs.
