How come girls / women don't seem to be interested
... In gaming? I mean, generally speaking. Even at 40 I feel like this is something I will enjoy and be fascinated with forever!

shareLots of girls enjoy gaming, a lot more of them don't. I don't see the point in all this "how do we get women involved in such and such". Just let people enjoy what they enjoy. Most women aren't interested in games and there's nothing wrong with that.
shareNo one's pushing agendas here, just find it interesting that men seem to be hardwired to enjoy this type of things naturally, or at least more naturally than women generally speaking
shareMen are naturally more competitive and adventurous than woman. Video games scratch both of those itches with shooter games (competitive) and open world sandbox (adventurous) games.
sharei've seen more women drawn in by COSPLAY, at conventions over the last...5 years or so.
At 40, might be a bit late for you to get involved in that, but good for the next gen.
One thing does not imply the other. Just because I enjoy open world games, doesn't mean I'm fascinated with the idea of dressing up as some weird medieval character and further present myself as such in a convention lol totally not my thing
shareMy wife loves video games and I love her for it.
Signed, million man
It's so very simple, no one wants to face the truth:
Because men and women, girls and boys simply have UNEQUAL, different interests in life.
Modern narrative is everyone needs to be the same, needs to be equal. No. No they don't.
FALSE.
shareI take your point, but I wouldn’t describe an interest in a pastime as an inequality. To me that’s just a difference in the sexes; but there’s always exceptions to the rule which should also be embraced, otherwise isn’t keeping these things restricted just another way of forcing everyone to be the same?
sharethat kind if IS my point too. differences in the sexes. there is no restriction keeping girls out of video games - yes, there are a few into it - but people keep equating things like this to the inequalities in life: More girls SHOULD be into videos games... why? because there is way to many guys? if we're going to do that, more women should be in prisons, more women should drive nascar, more women should work on oil rigs, more men should be nurses, or secretaries... etc none of this will even be "equal" because it simply isnt. it's like saying we need more oxygen in the ocean, and more moisture in the sky. no we don't.
there is no restriction keeping girls out of video games - they just aren't interested. And I, male, am not interested in fashion. it's no big deal. our interests are not EQUAL and never will be.
They're designed to want to have a family and continue the species.
Be grateful.
If it all came down to men, we'd be doomed.
I wasn’t aware but I’m not really surprised if it’s true, some pastimes appeal to certain genders more, it’s not much to worry about. I do know that one of the top gamers from my country is female.
In fact I think I only know one person of any gender who’s into gaming. It is a guy though. I’m having a beer with him after work this week actually, I’ll ask him about girls in his circle 👍
We love gaming! It's just finding time to do so unfortunately.
