My first thought is that the list does not contain this movie:

Which is awesome. and no1 in its genre imo

reply

I added it to my watchlist. Thanks

Mr. Nobody would be a serious contender for a top 10 spot for me.

Loved House of Flying Daggers and I'm a Cyborg but that's OK as well, and The Neverending Story is just a timeless classic.

reply

Not a lot of people have Mr Nobody in their “Top” lists.

A good and varied list. There’s about 20 I don’t know, but everything that I have seen, I like.

I reckon about 7 would make my top 100, of which Blade Runner is in my Top 20 & Goodfellas is in my Top 10.

Overall I like it. Mainly thanks to some gems like Jacob’s Ladder, Papillon, The Land Before Time and Sling Blade. Some films I hate for example The Revenant and Braveheart.
The Lion King is your best movie in the list.

about your top 10:

1. Requiem for a dream 9/10
2. Friday n/a
3. Fight Club 6/10 overrated
4. Blood in blood out n/a
5. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas n/a
6. Scarface 8.5/10
7. Goodfellas 9/10
8. Apocalypse Now 9/10
9. A Beautiful Mind 5.5/10
10. Trainspotting 7.5/10

I don’t know how you can’t love A beautiful mind but other than that, good ratings! (I know Fight Club is not for everyone so I understand)

Your list looks like your taste in film crystallized in about 2006 or so when most of these movies were big with counterculture oriented youths and young adults.

No offense meant by that btw; I enjoy a lot of the films on your list as well.

reply

Yeah, that could make sense. I was 21 in 2006. I was in my PRIME!

reply

All of those movies suck! 😛

reply

Ok, ok…I sent you my real Top 50 in your PMs.

😁

reply

I don't see "Spice World" here, so I can't give it a 10/10.

reply

Very eclectic. A few I haven't heard of like Red Cliff.

A Beautiful Mind and Fight Club are on my list of most overrated movies. ABM is a very silly depiction of schizophrenia. It really annoyed me that it shows Nash as being unable to do high level math when he was on his meds, when the opposite was true. His mathematical reasoning was effected by his disease. Fight Club, it was mostly the false narrator ending I didn't like.

Most of your picks are pretty good. Goodfellas and Apocalypse Now would be in my top twenty.

reply

I saw A beautiful mind 3 times and came out shaken to the core and impressed by two of my favourite actors each three time. A 10/10 for me.
