Why do people use their speakerphone in cafes and restaurants?
I’m really not interested in listening to their conversation.
shareI’m really not interested in listening to their conversation.
shareI've seen people like that while in the waiting room at the hospital, the DMV, or even on buses. I really hate it because it shows just how stupid, selfish, and inconsiderate they are towards everyone around them. Plus, it shows how irresponsible they are with personal, private information, and the fact that they like listening to loud music that has damaged their hearing before age 40. The most common type of people I've seen that do this are black people, but I've also seen a few Hispanics do it.
shareIt transcends race, creed and culture.
shareI've seen it happen with black people more than anyone else. I could even tell you at least two anecdotes about it.
shareI’ve been all over the world. The People of Stupid are everywhere.
shareEver been to CA and TX?
shareYes and yes. I have dual nationality; I lived in the US as a child.
shareAnecdote 1: I'm in the ER waiting room due to an illness mom has, and we're waiting to go in and see her. Someone nearby has their phone on very high volume, and you can hear every word being spoken by the program they're watching. Person is black. I had to do what everyone else in the room did and ignore the prick, despite the noise.
Anecdote 2: I'm walking through the parking lot to go shopping somewhere, and this family has their car windows open, their speaker phone at top volume, and the entire damned parking lot can hear their conversation. And guess what? The family was black. I stayed quiet, walked on past into the store, and pretended not to hear any of it, but I was quite annoyed.
I could tell you plenty more bad phone etiquette I've witnessed, and the people in question are almost always black whenever I see it happen. The only exception to this rule was when a Hispanic girl in my EKG class was sharing a Spanish language video with her friends, and that's when I learned that they bleep out cuss words in other languages too.
You want to hear of an inconsiderate public thing I've seen everybody do, no matter the background, try witnessing people driving like maniacs on the road.
YOU JUST LOVE TELLING YOUR HYSTERICAL BLACK STORIES...DON'T YA?....MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS THE PEOPLE WERE BLACK...BLACK BLACK BLACK.

Absolute classic! 🤣👍
shareI was on a bus a few months back, it was full. A woman was on her phone to her sister...and due to some family disagreement...she literally disowned her sister over the phone.
Why would you choose a crowded bus to have THAT conversation?
I also hear many.people on trains having conversations and watching YouTube vids with the speaker on. So the Great Headphone Shortage of the last few years shows no sign of abating...
The People of Stupid have no truck with headphones.
shareYeah, it bothers me too. I remember the first time, One was thinking.....
"Who the f(*&^% is he talking to?"
Personally I would never do that in a public place - who knows who is listening?
Plus I'd think "Why would anyone want to be bothered with my conversation?".
The whole thing is dumb, IMO personal conversations should be kept personal, in your own office or home.
Why do The People of Stupid feel the need to: -
A. Turn the speaker volume to max.
B. Shout into the phone.
Perhaps they suffer from an extreme case of 70s-80s boom box nostalgia.
Remember those 60s-80s desktop telephone handsets made about 5 years ago as cell phone accessories? This just gave me a great idea. Old school boom box bluetooth replicas.
Imagine walking down the street having a loud conversation people could hear a block away?
Definitely no damage warrantee, though....
