films you started but never finished?

What are some films you've started watching but never finished for one reason or another? For me, I chose to divide mine into two categories:

Ones I Enjoyed and Will Go Back to Some Day:

The Abyss
WALL·E
The Adventures of Tintin
Elle
My Fair Lady

Ones I Didn't Enjoy and Probably Will Never Return to:

Reds
The English Patient
The Big Short
Hail Mary
Network

What's yours?

I found Lawrence Of Arabia a very boring movie despite a good cast. I even have the soundtrack on vinyl and the music is fantastic but this is a super boring movie. It's nearly as boring as that clunker Citizen Kane. Two movies I'll never watch again.

Dune. Old and new. Who gives a fuck about a 🏜 desert. Also the book bored me to tears.

I enjoyed the novel quite a lot, it spoke volumes about the elite and powerful who cause the deaths of multitudes without a second thought. I also liked the remake movie very much and I am looking forward to the sequel.

I never got through the many other novels though.

As a completionist, I try to finish everything I start, but one I couldn’t make it through was Gummo. I was pretty tired when I started it and not enjoying it at all, so I gave up and went to sleep. I still may get back to it at some point, but this was about 6 months ago and I’ve yet to feel any interest in returning to it.

Rambo - Last Blood - projector broke near the end, have blu-ray but never got around to it.

reply

You aren’t missing much, it’s really not that good. They should have ended it with the 2008 film.

reply

I saw it at a second run theatre and got a voucher for a full price feature, so it kinda worked out for me.

reply

Not a Rambo movie. Stallone repurposed a border/cartel movie with the name John Rambo and took his fans for a shakedown.

reply

I feel he pretty much did the same thing with all the sequels. He just wanted to make big loud action movies and just threw the Rambo character in there because First Blood was so successful.

reply

He kept the silent personality consistent until this one where he is very chatty, even in Spanish. It was a joke.

reply

Good point, but then again even in Parts II and III he was cracking one liners like he's James Bond or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

reply

Well a man of few words who cracks a great one liner certainly will win over the audience. My favorite, "do we get to win this time?"

reply

Naw that wasn’t what I was referring to, I was referring to lines like “I got hung up” or “well done”. The line about football was also pretty cringy.

reply

I like the joke about the blue light.

What's it do?
Rambo - "It turns blue."

reply

Lawrence of Arabia. It's pretty long and just doesn't hold my interest at all, despite being well made and acted.

OH GOD...I REALLY STRUGGLED TO FINISH THAT THING...I WISH I HADN'T.
