MC Movie Club ASSEMBLE!

Stoney is going on vacation this week and asked me to start the Friday/Saturday movie thread. I’m starting this early so you all have time to check out these stonekeeper suggestions and make sure you can stream them:

Killers (1996)
Satanic Panic
M.O.M. Mothers Of Monsters
May
Fear Inc.
Torment
Peelers

*I checked and all of these are on TUBI in my region, be sure to check your area, streaming can be a bit random for some reason.

Stoney rated all of these a 6.5 or higher and the dude knows his stuff. Let’s all vote on what to watch for the movie club🤓👍

Also, even though I hate to be bossy it’s come to my attention that our esteemed Dean and Canadian neighbor hownos has never seen Robocop. This is a ridiculous state of affairs and I for one will not live in a world where hownos has not seen Robocop!

I suggest Robocop for the 9pm est Friday night show, you folks pick the rest, we need an 11pm for Friday and a 9pm and 11pm for Saturday. Let’s make stonekeeper proud!

***ETA: May seems like a good pick for the 11pm Friday show if you can all stream it👍

Me and Stoney have completely opposite taste about movies :)
I am not fan of Horror movie, but it's always better to pick the older movie I suggest Torment.

For second movie I suggest The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey

I just like our gang so let’s see what everyone else picks, I’ll watch whatever with the crew.

I’ll check if Navigator is available here. And sorry to ask personal stuff but what country are you in? I only ask because some of these streaming services are weird. I can’t figure out how a guy in New York can’t see the same stuff as a guy from Japan.

I'm not certain you should consider my opinion.
I probably won't watch any movie due to the late hour (3-4am).

Oh, yeah, way too late!
It’s mostly Eastern Canadians and Americans that do MC Movie nights. The time zone deal obviously limits participation.

I am not a fan, but it doesn't mean I hate all horror movies.

For as long as I can remember, I've disliked gore-horror and comedy-horror, as well as any horror films that focus on "let's see in what 'cool' way the next victim will die." It's quite clear that the films on the list meet these criteria. I also don't enjoy excessive blood or scenes with amputated body parts.

Furthermore, as I've grown older, I've almost lost the desire to watch horror movies, including the styles I once found appealing. The movies you mentioned are the exception, although I haven't seen them in several years. I'm simply not in the right state of mind for these kinds of movies.

i agree on comedy horrors - the worst subgenre ever. there are plenty of good psychological horrors especially older movies.

Agreed, I have a hard time with the whole concept of making fun of death and blood.

psychological horrors are something else. Most of them combine thriller - that is one of my favorite genre.

Have you seen the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost movies? Shawn of The Dead, End Of The World or Hot Fuzz?

All of those are available on Tubi Canada so I would be available for Friday 9 pm and possibly 11 pm (if I am not too sleepy). Saturday I work till 10:30 pm, so I may be able to do the 11 pm depending again on sleepiness.

Tina and the Professor is the title. It's an amazing piece of filmmaking on par with The Room, and despite that comparison I won't be heralding it anytime soon for an MC Movie Club screening.

Death Wish 3 (1985) - so over the top. new york wasn't that bad in the 80s. watch it for bronson and his deadpan one liners 6/10
