Movies that have aged terribly that you once loved

Perhaps the comedy aged, or the special effects look terrible, or its too much about an era that has passed and has lost its luster.

Any come to mind?

All of them.

The Goonies. Practically unwatchable nowadays.

I agree. That was the one I was thinking of.

The comedy? The plot?

I thought it wasn't wholesome enough to be a kids movie. Telling the maid in fluent Spanish that sex toys are in the house?

And conspiracy theory that the one eyed monster was an adult making a penis joke also makes it questionable.

And the American dad joke about Steven Spielberg having sex with the boys on set puts a question mark over him and the movie.

The Godfather - a classic movie that nowadays annoys me because IMO it romanticizes organized crime.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - pretty much the same reason

Dr. Strangelove - Overly insulting of the military

M*A*S*H. The movie, not the TV show, not that the TV show has aged well.

I used to think it was hilarious iconoclasm, now I think that the Hawkeye and Trapper are a couple of asshole bullies. What they do to Hot Lips is unconscionable, as she'd never been anything but nice to them - they pick on her and humiliate her just because she's "regular army". They act like a nurse spending her life caring for wounded soldiers was some sort of crime.

I agree that the TV show has not aged well. I used to think it was great and some episodes still are entertaining, but overall it just doesn't do anything for me when I watch it - especially the later seasons when it stated getting very preachy.
