Your top six video games

I don’t like picking just one.

Call of duty black ops
Red dead redemption 2
GTA San Andreas
NHL 21
Fable II
Warcraft: Orcs and humans

HM (call out a lesser game you loved): Champions of Norrath (2004)

reply

Banjo-Kazooie
Mega Man 2
Resident Evil 4 (original or remake)
Robotron 2084
Super Mario World
Windjammers

Mentions: PN03, Magical Tetris Challenge, Runaway: A Road Adventure

reply

That's a fun series to enjoy. I played the latest one a few years ago, Back in the Groove.

The Long Dark
CounterStrike Source
Everquest

I'll keep thinking but the first one that comes to mind is.....Worms, great game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW0QCU3RPtY

reply

Great pick! I spent over a hundred hours playing Worms World Party online in the early 2000s.

reply

Me and m friends had a blast playing this game too!

What are your thoughts on playing matches with unlimited ninja rope enabled?

reply

Civilization II (Amiga)
Galaxian (Arcade)
GTA V (PS4)
Mat Mania (Arcade)
Pong (Arcade)
Tetris (PC)
Super Bomberman (SNES)

I'm not very good at math.

reply

Ehhhh... in no particular order (and, as usual, leaving out way too many great games for my liking)...

Castlevania (NES)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)
Shining Force 2 (Genesis)
Diablo 2 (PC)
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Arcade)
Ninja Gaiden Black (XBox)

Honorable mention: Double Dragon. Doesn't get nearly enough credit for basically inventing the whole "beat 'em up" genre a whole 2 years before Final Fight, which is way overpraised as far as I'm concerned.

reply

GTA Vice City
Ghost Recon 1
Resident Evil 2
FIFA Road to the World Cup 98
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell
Crash Bandicoot

reply

Doom
Echo the Dolphin
Golden Eye
Dark Wizard
Tron
Pokemon Go

reply

Jesus, Ecco the Dolphin... I promise you I'm not being hyperbolic when I say I still get nightmares about those games to this very day (anyone who's ever entered "NNNNNNNN" as a password in the first game will know exactly what I mean).

Whenever people bring up the whole "can video games be art" debate, I always think of those. Both the original and Tides of Time are among the greatest, most haunting pieces of fiction I've ever experienced.

Since I kinda cheated in the one favorite thread with most of Valve’s output, I’ll be more specific here.

Team Fortress Classic
Portal 2
The Last of Us
Baldur’s Gate 2
Half-Life 2
[Duke Nukem 3D]
