First Five Movies you Ever Saw in a Theater?

I've been missing the theater experience for the last couple of years. Hopefully, eventually, we'll get back to that amazing, communal way that people gather together to see new films and share an experience. It used to be almost like church to me when I was a kid (a kid who was raised without religion or actual church).

What were the first five films you watched in a movie theater?

Mine were:

'Ernest Goes to Camp'
'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'
'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'
'Home Alone'
'Dick Tracy'

reply

I didn't go to a lot of movies as a kid...The first one i remember is Finding Nemo.

reply

Batman (1989)
Dick Tracy (1990)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991)
The Rocketeer (1991)

reply

Nice. 'TMNT' would have been next on my list, right after Dick Tracy. 'The Rocketeer' would probably be right after that.

I WISH I had seen 'Batman' in a theater.

It would be really difficult trying to figure out which ones were first, but these would be big stand outs in my memory from when I was very young:

Star Wars
Every Which Way but Loose
Orca
Cannon Ball Run
Raiders of the Lost Ark

reply

I can only remember the first two, both in 1980:

Popeye
The Empire Strikes Back

reply

Lady and the Tramp (1955)
The Court Jester (1956)
Forbidden Planet (1956)
Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956)
The Ten Commandments (1956)

Looking at movies online, I figure “Follow That Bird” was one of the first. I can remember the screen seeming gigantic so perhaps it’s one of my first movie going experiences in a theatre. I believe I saw Ghost Busters at the drive in the year prior.

reply

The first five I remember are Follow that Bird, Ghostbusters, An American Tail, Batman (1989), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Old Yeller

Wow. I almost forgot this movie even existed. Now I've gotta find it and watch it. Thank you!

It's a finely made movie with a great story but have a box of tissues handy...Everyone cries watching Old Yeller, except for me, I just have allergies👍

reply

Yeah I never cried either. I think I just never watched it when my Mom wasn't chopping onions near me.

reply

Of course neither of us cried, we're Manly Men💪

I'm gonna go bench 350 bro, catch you later at the pool hall, we'll beat up some wimps👍
