Yesterday someone asked me to list my favorite sports in order....

1. Ice Skating
2. Curling
3. Football
4. Baseball
5. Hockey
6. Soccer
7. Basketball..hate it.

reply

Golf

reply

Ice skating is more of a sport than golf.

reply

Ice skating would be good exercise I imagine but I think it would be like ten pin bowling for me. As in I played ten pin bowling once and found it to be repetitive and lacking in variety, unlike golf.

reply

HERE IS MY ORDER...

1. BASKETBALL.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

7.

THAT IS ALL.

reply

I hope you're not serious, because i am about how much I hate basketball.. I saw the lakers celtics feud when I was 12 and it scarred me.

reply

I HAVE MAGIC AND KOBE'S JERSEY NUMBERS TATTOOED INTO MY FLESH.I WAS WATCHING THAT FEUD WITH MY DAD SCREAMING AT THE TV FOR LARRY BIRD AND HIS CELTICS TO GO FUCK THEMSELVES...I BLEED PURPLE & GOLD...IF NOT FOR MOVIES AND MY DAUGHTER THE LAKERS WOULD BE MY ONLY PASSION IN LIFE.

reply

Recently someone showed me the video for the old school stuff ...Blew my mind. I said i hate basketball but it was impressive.

reply

I attended a local amateur basketball game once and a very nasty all in brawl broke out, much to my astonishment, so I get it. I was used to a bit of biffo in Australian Rules Football but this basketball brawl was vicious.

reply

You'd feel at home here (Kentucky) ... Per state law, not being a rabid basketball fanatic is a felony. Personally I find basketball only slightly less boring than football, but they haven't arrested me yet.

reply

1. Football (Soccer)
2. Rugby
3. American Football
4. Boxing
5. Cricket

reply

Soccer...He passes and thats it...he passes and thats it. The best case is 2 goals to 1...

reply

I'll pass on your comment! HA!

reply

You realize this is a amazing joke on The Simpsons about Soccor.

reply

Haha yes, I thought of Homer as soon as I read it. ⚽

reply

Some American football games are like that as well, they only get more points.

reply

not if you've seen Brady play.

reply

I've seen Brady play. Did you forget about the Super Bowl in 2019? Only one freaking touchdown, which is basically 1-0.

reply

Whats not to like. The guy throws and hits anybody in his vision.

reply

My guess is if Shogun and Hownos ran out for a pass 40 yards out Brady would hit them.. He's the best quarterback of all time, with no back up guys. Sorry Drew Bledsoe.

reply

tennis

that's the only sport i really like, in that i'll follow what's happening & i'll sit and watch an entire game, follow tournaments, etc.

i kinda like baseball, especially the way it can be broken down statistically so many ways, but i don't think i have the patience to sit through an actual game anymore.

reply

I find women's tennis better today. Too many aces in men's

reply

Women's tennis has actually been boring for way longer thanks to "power tennis" players like the Williams sisters.

reply

better than one ace after another

reply

At least in men's tennis there've been players like Federer. There's nothing worse than only playing from the baseline and never getting near the net. Even someone like Djokovic will try something once in a while.

reply

i found that to be more the case in the 90s & early 2000s, maybe. the sampras era, basically. it all seemed to be about power then. & i definitely remember that being a time when the games were dull.

obviously power still matters, but i think the last 16 or so years - the federer era if you wanna call it that - has given us some of the most amazing tennis on the men's side. the nadal/federer wimbledon finals in the late 2000s, that roddick/federer game, the 2012 and 2017 australian finales...those matches are amazing to me.

all that said, i don't really follow the women's game at all, so i can't really comment on it one way or the other. i'll watch the finals in the major tournaments, but i definitely don't follow it the same way i do the men's game.

let's take a moment to appreciate some of the great djokovic/nadal points:

i have no great love for djokovic, but both of those guys are absolute warriors.

reply

I'm with you on Basketball. It's just a game of hot potato. Pass a ball around and get rid of it before a buzzer goes off.

reply

AS A 60% THREE POINT SHOOTER BACK IN THE DAY...I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU SWISH A FEW...YOU KNOW,BEFORE THE BUZZER GOES OFF.🙂

reply

I didn't say it was easy. Hitting a puck into a basketball net with a baseball bat is hard, but I don't want to see a sport made out of it.

reply

YOU GET THE APPEAL AFTER YOU HIT A FEW....OR IN MY CASE WHEN I SLIMMED DOWN ENOUGH TO SLAM DUNK.

reply

IF YOU COULD SHOOT 60% ON 3 POINT GOAL ATTEMPTS, THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DIVISION 1 COLLEGE STARTER ON SCHOLARSHIP, AND POSSIBLY MADE IT TO THE NBA... IF YOU COULD PASS A DRUG TEST.

reply

60% IN THE PARK,DRIVEWAY,3 SEASONS WITH A LOCAL AMATEUR LEAGUE...BIG DIFFERENCE IN COMPETITION...AT 6'6" IM HARD TO GUARD BEHIND THE LINE THOUGH...I WOULD HAVE LOVED BEING GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR SOMETHING OTHER THAN FUN.

RIGHT NOW THOUGH...I COULD WALK OUTSIDE AND SWISH 6 OUT OF 10...I DO SUCH WITH MY DAUGHTER QUITE OFTEN.

reply

LOTS OF COLLEGES WOULD HAVE HANDED YOU A FULL SCHOLARSHIP WITH THAT HEIGHT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU COULD HIT 60% 3PG. YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BROKEN COLLEGE LEAGUE SHOOTING RECORDS.

A 5'11" HIGH SCHOOL KID PRACTICED SHOOTING 3PGS 8 HOURS EVERY WEEKEND. HE BROKE HIS COLLEGE'S AND ITS LEAGUE'S 3PG CAREER RECORDS. WAS ONE OF THE TOP 3PG SHOOTERS IN THE USA AT THE TIME.

reply

Oh here's something that came up. I saw a Youtube video of Anya Taylor-Joy ( The Queen's Gambit ) and the interviewer asked her if she played sport and she said she was quite a good dancer. Do you think dancing is a sport ? I suppose it is but it's not often talked about in that way.

reply

football
hockey
baseball

reply

Ok for me a girl. Football it requires a lot more thought process. Its the intelligent persons sport...
