Two cats so far. I adopted them both from an animal shelter when they were two months old, and now they're over a year old. They started out as feral kittens before they were fostered and taken to the shelter, but now for the most part they act like regular housecats.
Iris - Short-haired silver tabby. She is the more shy, skittish of the pair but she has a lot of love to give. Her most amusing and endearing trait happens to be her obsession with my TV. She and Ivy would come running when I pop open my Blu-Ray player, but Iris has taken it further and just come running to the TV stand when I would turn the TV on. She will walk across, perch, rub against the TV when there's sound coming from it. She even meowed at me the one time I sat down to eat in the living room and didn't turn the TV on!
Ivy - Medium-hair, dark brown with white chin, belly, and feet. Super sweet and social, she absolutely loves people and will give head rubs. Shortly after I adopted her, she'd show respiratory symptoms and her eyes would get red. Over time, I learned that she has feline herpes. I was given medication for her eyes and respiratory issues, and soon her right eye got so infected that it wasn't opening and I couldn't see her eye at all when I opened it for her. I was told by the vet that her eye had to be removed, so we did that and while it is sad, Ivy doesn't seem to notice. She adjusted very well and is doing great with just her left eye intact.
