This Is Like A Horror Movie! It Scares The Bejeebers Out Of Me!

The Covid-19 Virus Is Something No Living Person Has Experienced! You Can Catch It From An Infected Person Who Has No Symptoms!

From The CDC:

Updated PPE recommendations for the care of patients with known or suspected COVID-19:
Based on local and regional situational analysis of PPE supplies, facemasks are an acceptable alternative when the supply chain of respirators cannot meet the demand. During this time, available respirators should be prioritized for procedures that are likely to generate respiratory aerosols, which would pose the highest exposure risk to HCP.
Facemasks protect the wearer from splashes and sprays.
Respirators, which filter inspired air, offer respiratory protection.
When the supply chain is restored, facilities with a respiratory protection program should return to use of respirators for patients with known or suspected COVID-19. Facilities that do not currently have a respiratory protection program, but care for patients infected with pathogens for which a respirator is recommended, should implement a respiratory protection program.
Eye protection, gown, and gloves continue to be recommended.
If there are shortages of gowns, they should be prioritized for aerosol-generating procedures, care activities where splashes and sprays are anticipated, and high-contact patient care activities that provide opportunities for transfer of pathogens to the hands and clothing of HCP.
Included are considerations for designating entire units within the facility, with dedicated HCP, to care for known or suspected COVID-19 patients and options for extended use of respirators, facemasks, and eye protection on such units. Updated recommendations regarding need for an airborne infection isolation room (AIIR).

*Patients with known or suspected COVID-19 should be cared for in a single-person room with the door closed. Airborne Infection Isolation Rooms (AIIRs) (See definition of AIIR in appendix) should be reserved for patients undergoing aerosol-generating procedures (See Aerosol-Generating Procedures Section)*

Updated information in the background is based on currently available information about COVID-19 and the current situation in the United States, which includes reports of cases of community transmission, infections identified in healthcare personnel (HCP), and shortages of facemasks, N95 filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs) (commonly known as N95 respirators), and gowns.
Increased emphasis on early identification and implementation of source control (i.e., putting a face mask on patients presenting with symptoms of respiratory infection).

Keep the best interests in mind by self isolating and stuff.

I don't have much money saved and am already in credit debt. Not earning $$ is what scares me

If fewer people end up dead from this than from the yearly flu, will any heads roll? Will anyone look back and learn anything? Will anyone be "wrong?"

reply

The only thing that's scary is the absolute stupidity it's brought out in so many people.

Yeah, those who are denying how serious the Covid-19 is. Burying oneself in the sand while the world shuts down around them. But, they know more than the CDC does, the top infectious disease doctors do such as Dr. Fauci do.

I'm talking about those buying 50 packs of toilet paper so no one else has any. All they're doing is making life difficult for everyone else.

Ah so! I agree! For several hours I’ve been attempting to place an order with Wal-Not! Order & Pick-Up...no times available. So, I signed up for the 15 Day Free Trial Delivery...you got it! No times available. I’m attempting to stay off the roads & taking up space in the store, but it’s not working. Anyhoo, what I was going to write and got off track, Wal-Not has put a limit of two on anything ordered which is a good thing...if you can get the two!

My daughter sent me a photo of a pick-up loaded to the hilt with toilet paper! I would hope s/he was also buying for other folks. Am I hoping too much? I am really not only seeing but hearing about the worst in people right now.

We had a pizza delivered this evening. I offered to free him of the pizza to place on my washer while I reached for the cash. He informed me I had to pay him first. I gave him the cash and took the pizza. I asked him “BTW, do you have people who take the pizza & not pay?” “Happened a few weeks ago.” My mouth fell open! “Really? What did you do?” “I told them they had to pay. They threw the empty box at me!”

This kid was such a nice guy trying to work & earn money and he has to deal with arseholes like that!

Yes, it's like Robert Deniro in Cape Fear! It has half it's face sticking out of the water! Ohmygosh!

BTW, I'm not sure why you keep mentioning that 32 year old that's been hospitalized.
Whatever he's seriously sick from, It's not this virus, more like an undiagnosed condition.

"Previously healthy" means nothing.
Heather O' Rourke died from a life-long (undiagnosed) colon condition. My cousin's wife died from a life-long (undiagnosed) heart condition.

There was a report of some guy in his 60's who had it who said it "wasn't that bad", and his recent bout with bronchitis was far worse.

Are you currently residing in an alternate reality or maybe on an alternate world?

I don't think they really understand what's going on here," he said. "My brother at Mount Sinai main campus, he understands. He can advocate for me.

Why does he need someone to advocate for him if he's in serious condition?

He's not even on a ventilator.
That means his lungs and respiratory system are fine.

In any case, the virus is just like an overhyped movie at this point.
The more it's talked about, the less I respect it or acknowledge it.

66% of the population wants to be a hypochondriac.

Apparently you didn’t do your research. He *was on a ventilator.* He had his brother speak for him due to being to weak to talk.

“James Cai was instructed to go to the hospital, where CT scans showed that he lost 50 percent of his lung function.”

I don’t know about you, but losing 50 percent of my lung function would make it difficult for me to breathe.

BTW, why do you people post when you don’t know all the facts? I guess the adage is true:

“Ignorance is bliss” 🤯

reply

During the interview, he was getting short of breath a few times, and said that he was having trouble breathing and would most likely need to be placed on a ventilator soon.

All I'm reading is that he thinks he'll be on a ventilator soon.

I don't know why he's worried about what the nurses think. He "has to look at the wall when they go in"?

He makes no sense,
and is being interviewed by a "Twitter philanthropist".
He should have his head checked.

Buck up, Buttercup. The Spanish Flu of 1917 makes this silly CV look like a walk in the park!

We know, but today is today. We also had the Black Plague in the 1300’s. We cannot afford to “Buck-up” when a severe virus hasn’t reached it’s apex and a recession or worse is on the horizon. This is something to not take lightly. When Disney shuts down...it’s serious!

I am taking it as seriously as it deserves.
