Today is the winter solstice in America, the day with the fewest hours of sunlight. Sunrise today is 7:10 AM. Sunset is 4:14 PM. Now the powers of light begin to ascend.

Now we can start to remember the green leaves on the other side of the year.

Same. Here in Finland the sunrise is 9.45 am and sunset is 2.45 pm. The days are so short atm it's depressing.

I agree - January and February are boring months, so I usually try to plan a vacation in February.

I share your sentiments. I once wrote an article for a Boston magazine titled “February Sucks, But March Swallows.” The editor loved my title. He got fired.

Well, I guess it depends on the type of magazine. I think that is really funny for adult reading.
