What do you miss the most about the old IMDB boards?

For me: Posts about less famous filmmakers/actors/actresses are gone forever.

I only miss it when I go see a movie and come here to read what people are saying. Unless it's a huge movie, sometimes there can be barely any posts on the page. Sometimes I want a bigger discussion.

That funny long post about David Lynch losing his cool whenever Dune is mentioned.

The experts on the “I Need To Know” board who seemed to memorize the most arcane details about obscure films.

The regulars on the FB Board. I was not a frequent poster there but they seemed like a friendly group (minus a few trolls).

Being able to look up film info, like location or cast, on the same site as the boards.

I miss individual members who said they wouldn't bother to find a new forum, and it seems they held to their word. There were some cool, nice, interesting people and now they're gone. Unless some of them came here with a different name! I have the same name as I used there so that there's continuity.

I miss the emoticons on IMDb. I think some of us even saved a screenshot of them for nostalgia's sake.

I don't miss some of the more severe forms of trolling that started to completely degenerate the place. I'm not talking about friendly joshing, I'm talking about the vicious ones who relentlessly targeted and doxxed people, encouraged suicide in vulnerable members, you know, some of the stuff that has now passed into law as a prosecutable offense. IMDb got really bad for that stuff in the later years.

I miss being able to use the wonderful "Selection of COLORS" to chose from whenever we'd posted a message.

Trolls.

More people on it. Posting on a movie's page here can take a long time for a response. And there are too many people here that feel the need to respond to everyone's threads. Muddles it down imo.

Agree - it was a fun place to discuss movies and TV - most were very active and here, not so much. I wonder why that is - do people not know about this site?

I think once imdb shut down a lot of people just found other interests. Maybe there are other movie chat rooms now too I'm not sure.

But you could talk about the most obscure movies there and you'd find someone who shares an interest in it.
Way less people here. Just look around on in the general discussion board here. Always the same handful of people responding to every thread! Often times not really adding anything.
