Good song
Ozzy's last in studio with Sabbath for 25 years!

This was inspired by a request here on GD to post the "dirtiest" song we know.
I love this song from way back, but didn't feel motivated to share it as something prurient.
The album was a flop except among a cult group of people, but it's pretty damn good if you ask me.

The late Jeff Buckley's father, Tim. Both died tragically young.

Oh, and at least three songs are real standouts for me, and the record as a whole stands up very well, especially because it's rather unique in it's low-fi white funk approach. Some of it's slow and hypnotic, (Sweet Surrender, Hong Kong Bar), other parts like this song are ecstatic. And it's not a long record so you can get in and get out without a big commitment.

I don't understand why Youtube does that

Also, I've been following a Who thread elsewhere. They covered this song in fine fashion, but the version I like best is by The Band, (maybe because it was the first I heard). The Who version is rougher and maybe faster.

And a longer version by The Who

Ha!

I recall posting many moons ago that I disliked Country and time and again you've shut me right up Amigo😆

Classic Country is great stuff, I should have said that I find the new stuff fugazi and too corporate-safe

Keep 'em coming Vast!

I thought the same thing about the music of our Southern sisters and brothers. Then I attended college in the south. Then I listened to George Jones. After the Possum, it was Conway Twitty...then Hank Williams, Ray Price, Hank Locklin, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Skeeter Davis, Freddy Fender, Glen Campbell, et al. Songs about life, partying, heartbreak....good times. Easily understood lyrics, nice melodies, sometimes mixed with humor, sometimes an emotional tug that just grabs you.

If you like rock ‘n roll, can’t go wrong with The Man in Black. Country roots, but he likes his guitar and his band, the Tennessee Two, eventually became the Tennessee Three with a drummer added.
As good as Sam Phillips at Sun Records was at getting exposure for up-and-coming musicians, it’s almost criminal that he never recorded better versions for a few songs. Cash is still good here, but hand it to Joaquin Phoenix, he gave a damn fine effort and sound to this catchy little ditty:

Phoenix- https://youtu.be/pDOPJKIDP-8

Good times!
