Your Top 5 Cannibal or Jungle Adventure Films

My absolute favorite is:

Man From Deep River (1972)
This one is a wonderful love / adventure story with only one Cannibal scene. The score is addictive and the chemistry between Me Me Lay and Ivan Rassimov is amazing. Tons of zoom shots for the Umberto Lenzi fans.

Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals (1977)
Joe D’Amato film has Laura Gemser nude firing a 12ga pump at attacking natives from a moving boat. That alone is worth checking this one out.

Raw Force (1982)
This is the Holy Grail of all exploitation films in my humble opinion. It does not take itself seriously and combines so many genres it’s hard to say just what kind of film it is. You know if Cameron Mitchell, Hope Holliday and Jillian Kessner are in it, it’s going to be good. Also look for Camille Keaton.

Cannibal Apocalypse (1980)
John Saxon and Giovanni Lombardo Radice star in this one about men who return from Vietnam with a Cannibal virus.

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
“THE” found footage film.

Wow! You are a connoisseur of the genre! I’ve seen all but Papaya and the musical on your list. If Papaya ranks among the others then I need to check it out.

reply

Oh I just love a cannibal movie
I try to see as many as I can because it's just the grossest thing ever to eat another person!

I forgot to include Alive
Oops!

Have you seen Raw (2016)?

reply

Yeah, that was a really good one

Favourite cannibal films? 😳 Er, none?

Jungle adventures, I like them. The Mission 1986, De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Aidan Quinn. The African Queen. Lots more but these just off the top of my head.

Wait a minute... Have you seen The Man From Deep River? It’s a love story. 😃

reply

It's heart warming😉

reply

If there were not a slight cannibal scene it could be a Lifetime movie. 😉

So romantic!
AND filmed in Thailand

So sexy lol!

reply

"I love you so much I want to devour you!" Oops 😮

In all seriousness, it is Lenzi’s best work and the tamest of the genre. There is a strange charm about the film so if you are curious I do recommend it.

Something tells me we're not going to be able to successfully recommend movies to one another 😄

reply

You may be right. 😂

There were a few Cannibal love story movies. Amzonia : The Catherine Miles Story/White Slave (1985) is another one.
