Summer is here!!?? 🌞

Summer arrived here today. 😊 It's 82°F and sunny. Well, sort of sunny because we're getting smoke from wildfires in Alberta, Canada and it's a bit hazy (I am sorry for those who have to deal with wildfires and their aftermath).

I'm happy! πŸŒžπŸΉπŸ–οΈ

I'm with you - far too much rain lately, and even when it's not raining the clouds have hung around, so it's rather exciting to have a sunny day, finally!

reply

about 70 here. still wet as it rains every night.

reply

Send the rain west, if you can. Alberta will thank you.
(But you know that.)

reply

The Prairies dry out real fast after winter. We are turning into a jungle here with all the rain.

reply

Not here coming onto winter.

reply

Sorry. You must be in the southern hemisphere.

reply

I am. It's ok when you guys are being snowed on we will be having 104 degree/40 degree Celsius Fahrenheit days down here.

reply

Yes, we each have our chance to "rub it in" about the weather. πŸ˜‰

reply

It was 55f/13C here yesterday. What the bloody hell has happened to Summer?

reply

I forget what part of the world you live in, but I'd share our summer weather with you if I could!

reply

β€˜Sunny’ Bournemouth, about 5 minutes from the sea on the South coast of England. It really shouldn’t be this cold by now.

reply

I sympathize. We had falling snow here about a week or so ago.

reply

A slightly warmer 62F/17C today, overcast - come on sunshine, where are you?

reply

Officially it doesn't start until June 21, but I'm glad you are enjoying warm weather wherever you are!

reply

True, but we take what we can get, right? We'll call it "summer weather" rather than summer.

reply

Never knew that. Summer starts at june 1st in my world.

reply

Do you mean the season of Summer or just the high temperatures where you live?

reply

I mean the season.

reply

We were over 30 C this week which I think is in the higher 80's? I dunno, but it was warm. Today was supposed to be nice but we are covered by smoke from forest fires in the northern part of the province. It cooled right off and it was so dark around noon that the lights needed to be on.

reply

Holy smokes! Oops, I mean, wow! Our sun looked like that this morning, although our sky was not that orange-y brown color - more of a yellowish, grayish haze.

reply

Yeah, it's not really pleasant.

reply

It sounds awful. No air quality concerns here in central MN. At least not now.

But it was cool seeing that bright orange ball in the sky this morning.

reply

You have bizarre weather out there Ladyβ„οΈβ„οΈβ„οΈβ„οΈβ˜€οΈ!

Warm-ish and constantly wet here in NY but I wouldn't be happy without something to gripe about😬

reply

Yep, I think we all like to gripe at times. Sometimes, it's appropriate.

Lake Ontario likely to exceed record-high water levels - water, water everywhere.

reply

Isn't that the truth? Lake Minnetonka, a very popular recreation spot in the Twin Cities area, has imposed a no-wake rule until water levels recede. And that's on the entire lake, not just a few of the bays. That means no water-skiing, and a speed limit of just 20 mph. I'll bet a lot of boating folks are really bummed about it.

Lake Michigan also

I didn't know this, but certainly not a surprise.
