Lemon-lime soda

Is delicious. I gave up caffeine, and I don't really drink soda of any kind very often, but when I do I go for the lemon-lime. Sprite and 7up are good, but the cheap off-brands are just as good and way cheaper. I also love ginger ale. When you drink water 95% of the time, cheap lemon-lime soda tastes gourmet.

Ah, the Uncola! You're too young to remember this.

reply

I remember this.

reply

No, you can't. You're Canadian! 😜

reply

Hes thinking of 7 Below

reply

😆 Ha, ha!

We have a fairly new store in town called "5 below." I guess it's a more expensive version of the dollar stores.

reply

Canada jokes just never get old i tells 'ya.

We find ourselves in 'Dollar' stores fairly often...and NOTHING is a Dollar!
False advertising i say

When the kiddies do well in school they get some money and we drive them out to the 'Dollar' store and they buy all the Magic Markers, waterguns and crummy toys they desire...i love the 'Dollar' stores!
But they should change the name

reply

When I first heard of 5 Below I thought it was selling cold weather clothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

We have 7up here and the American commercials.

reply

I know! But it's more fun my way.

reply

ginger ale was created by a Canadian.

reply

Sort of an offshoot of ginger beer, which originated in England and a Canadian refined it to create dry ginger ale.

I'm sure you remember this:

reply

I remember this one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9vWbOAgQKo

reply

You're making me thirsty for good ol' Canada Dry Ginger Ale! May have to pick some up one of these days.

reply

When we were kids and had an upset stomach, our mother would give us ginger ale. It did seem to work.

reply

I think Canada Dry is the ONLY one on the market containing real ginger. you have to read the label. The same with "Ginger Snaps" cookies. Some contain NO ginger but really contain artificial flavors and a pepper spice to "mimic". !

reply

Never thought about it until now, but what does Canada Dry mean, anyhow? The only thing I can think of is it came about during Prohibition, but I don't think Canada was a dry country ... was it?

reply

The Dry was supposed to mean less sweet than other soft drinks. Canada never had Prohibition.

reply

That makes sense. Why did it take all of these years for me to know that? You'd think it'd have been part of their ad campaign.

As a kid I always thought of Canada Dry as an adult soda company. Ginger ale was the only one I liked, because it was the sweetest. What kid cares about club soda or (worse!) tonic water?

reply

Nice find GlenEllyn
I remember this well

reply

It's the most refreshing of all sodas. I used to drink Sprite, but since they made it 100% sugar-free I buy 7up instead.

reply

Incorrect
Dr. Pepper is the best soda

reply

No, it's Black Cherry Fresca!

reply

Now you have me rethinking my staunch, pro-Dr. Pepper support darn it all!!
It's hard to argue with Fresca... Oh, you just have me running in circles lady
As usual

reply

Let me know when you get dizzy and I'll reverse direction.

reply

Im always dizzy so that wont work
Ill just go with Fresca from now on, as long as i can mix it with other beverages😉

reply

A shot of vodka will spice it up, but that's probably a girly drink.

reply

Sounds perfect
I may have to give it a go!
You are the 'idea Lady' Glen
Well done

reply

I try...

reply

Love black cherry Fresca!

reply

👍 Yes!

reply

I didn't say it was the best, I said it was the most refreshing.

reply

Isnt that the same thing you arm twisting beauty?
Sheesh...what a pain in the neck!

reply

No, it's not the same, you pain in the butt! Sometimes you drink soda to quench your thirst and sometimes for the flavour. Personally, I like cream soda and melon soda the best.

reply

Melon Soda is a crime against humanity you fiend
And Cream Soda is Root Beer's doofus cousin!

Uggh...why do i still adore you?!?

reply

What? I love cream soda! 😠

Earlier this week I found a black cherry cream soda and was it good! Even though I'm not much of a soda drinker.

I do love Dr Pepper and have never heard of melon soda. Must be a EU thing.

reply

I aint gonna argue with The Cat!

The Black Cherry part sounds great

Melon Soda...leave it up to the Dutch!

reply

😄

It basically tasted like black cherry, with a touch of cream soda. Yummy!

Melon, yeah, leave it to the Dutch to come up with that! I loves ya anyway, Stratego ❤️🐰

What about those drinks with the blobby thingies floating around in it? Never tried one. Ick!

reply

Lurv u too.❤🐰❤

Melon soda seems to be a Caribbean and Asian thing. I've even had melon cream soda!

Pear soda is also good!

reply

What's wrong with you, man?! Were you dropped on your head as a baby?

reply

Yes i was
Repeatedly in fact

Possibly Abe Lincoln

reply

That's why Lincoln was such a scrawny guy, I guess.

reply

Now you're talking sense

Finally

reply

All credit must go to Dewey!

reply

Always:)

reply

I've never tried cream soda, or melon either. I didn't know melon soda existed.

reply

cream soda is vile stuff. stay away.

reply

Ignore the Canadian. I like cream soda from Schweppes and A&W.

reply

I can't! He's kinda cute. 😊

reply

Have you been drinking again, Glen?! He's an old fart!

reply

Um...🍻...yes...🍻 But old farts can still be cute, ya know!

reply

I'm not so sure about this one. This is a very stubborn old fart!

reply

We'll just say he's a persistent old fart. And he's still cute.

reply

Hmm, maybe if he wouldn't complain about my EXCELLENT taste in movies and music so often!

reply

He claims this is what he looks like.

At least that's what he told me.

reply

What the hell?! He told me he looked like freakin' Mitch Pileggi!

reply

Well, well, well. He's leading one of us down the garden path - meaning he's teasing one of us - or both.

reply

He probably looks like this!:

I definitely don't wanna walk down no garden path with him! You'll never be seen again!

reply

OMG, NO! I know who that is, and it's not Mitch!!

reply

It's the Croftmeister.

reply

Yes, I remember watching him dancing at that wedding.

Okay, done with that detour.

reply

I bought that Soda Stream thing with the gas Cartridges
Its a seltzer machine and you can add anything you want...they sell flavors but nearly all of them are gross
I do a ton of ice and fresh lime or lemon quite often
Its very good Pete

reply

No love for Sierra Mist?

reply

They're all good, but SM falls into the "unnecessarily overpriced" category, and I can pay half as much for something that tastes identical. But yeah Sierra Mist is also delicious.

reply

It's the only mainline lemon-lime soft drink that uses real cane sugar in its default variety.

reply

I had no idea. It is particularly good.

reply

I don't drink soda either. I buy lemon and limes and stick a chopped chunky slice of each in my tea if I run out of decent herbal flavours and only have boring left. Only pain is, the lemon floats and the limes sink so they're designed to make adding them to tea hard to drink even with a straw lol.

Rock N Roll lifestyle, I know.

reply

Love this flavor, and ginger ale , as well! So refreshing.
