Movie Challenge Y'all!!!

Think of a movie you love and post some dialogue...

Offer a hint as to the context, the lighting or soundtrack, describe a scene...
Other posters have to figure out the movie
I will start:
A few dudes are going fishing...
'Were going to need a bigger boat'

reply

A frazzled supervisor in the midst of a major work crisis:

“Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue!”

reply

Airplane!
Classic...the guy picked THAT week to quit everything lol

reply

Yes indeed.

reply

”The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.”

reply

The Witches of Eastwick ?

reply

no sorry

reply

The Usual Suspects!

reply

you are correct

reply

I only knew this one because it's one of my favourite movies. I really suck at this game.

reply

One of my favs also. Almost time for another re-watch.

reply

I can't help but watch every time it's on!

reply

Well that counts a helluva lot more than rushing to Google right away !

reply

This reminded me of one of my favorite quotes: " Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight ? The devil doesn't change, the devil changes you. " I'm going on memory here, maybe paraphrasing a little.

reply

I've never heard that quote before. Do you know where it's from?

reply

I'm trying to track it down, but isn't that the idea of this game ?

reply

Are you cheating and using Google???

reply

No, as I said, I was relying on memory. Using Google to double check myself is not cheating and I've got it partially figured out as accidentally conflating two favorite quotes. My initial thought was that it was from The Witches of Eastwick. The fact that I'm subconsciously associating this quote with Jack Nicholson is a clue.

reply

Let me know when you you've found out where it's from!

reply

Ok, for the most part, I think I've got it. The first half about the pale moonlight is attributed to Jack Nicholson's Joker in 1989's Batman. He follows that up by saying, " I just like the way it sounds, " which I think is why it stands out for me because it's a great line of dialogue.

The second half is actually " When you dance with the devil, the devil doesn't change. The devil changes you. " This is attributed to a writer known as Amanda Hocking but has been used in film. Like I said, I accidentally conflated these two quotes but they do sound good together as if they were intended as one.

reply

Thank you, db. They are great lines.

reply

They are ! Great dialogue and lines of literature somehow take hold of my mind.

reply

My memory sucks. I can only remember the awful (but hilarious) lines from The Room.

reply

Well, I certainly don't have a photographic memory, just what I think is normal, age related memory loss. And then adding my penchant for beer to that ? Well, you get the picture...😉

reply

Yeah, alcohol might also be the reason why I forget everything except The Room.l!🍶🍾🍷🍸🍹🍺🍻🥂🥃

reply

Also used in Exit Wounds, starring Steven Seagal and DMX.

reply

It's originally a quote by the French poet Baudelaire.

reply

No, Steven coined the phrase right after he invented Aikido.

reply

That guy can do anything! It won't be long before he's president of Kazachstan.

reply

You’re so far behind, it’s embarrassing. He already did that. Turned their rivers to liquid gold and their crops to diamonds. Unfortunately, they all died of thirst and starvation.
