Misconceptions about Star Wars when you were a kid

I thought the protocol droid was called "Sir 3PO".

A dignity in other words. It made sense 'cause he was made of gold.

reply

"Dark" instead darth vader.

reply

Before I actually saw the movies, I thought the big "Luke, I'm your father" revelation happened in the first movie.

reply

I thought Darth Vader was a robot.

reply

Well, alledgedly, he IS more machine than man.

reply

Ha, for some reason I thought Boba Fett was some kind of alien being with an invisible head or something because the black shit on his helmet looked like an opening. I had the same idea about Marvin the Martian. Still don't know what the deal is with him.

reply

The invisible head sounds cool though!

reply

I thought it was light saver.

reply

It can be!

I had initially thought that the second Death Star in ROTJ was the remains of the first one, and it just hadn't blown up all the way so the Empire was repairing it.

reply

That was my reaction when I saw a picture of it before I saw the movie.

reply

Star Wars is great, but....

-I thought it was pure science fiction.
-I also thought that only sci-fi nerds like it. Turns out it's really for "normies" and that the hardcore geeks gravitate more towards Star Trek.

reply

Probably because it's more about real science and technology.
