We had -10 celsius (14 fahrenheit) last night here in Toronto. The furnace was on all nite.

If it's a 1/2 or 3/4 pipe, go to home depot and get a small pipe cutter, two Sharkbite couplers of the correct size and a small piece of Pex. Shut off your main valve, cut out the damaged pipe, install the Sharkbites and Pex plastic pipe and you can have that done in no time.

sharkbite is the best damn thing to happen to home repair since duct tape.

I gotta check out this sharkbite stuff if you're comparing it to good old duct tape or, as I like to call it, "the tape that solves all problems and forgives all sins".

I've plumbed many projects with it. If you can snap legos together you can use this stuff.

Damn! I hate it when that happens. I just had to replace my sanitary stack, and that cost an arm and a leg. I also had to replace my furnace earlier this year, and will also have to replace my water heater. I guess it's my year in the barrel
