Does anyone here have a fear of clowns?

If you do, I hope you're not getting the same recommended ads at the bottom that I am, and have been every day this week.

3 out of the 4 photos are of very creepy clowns. One has piranha teeth.

The 4th photo is poor Brendan Fraser, who Hollywood isn't going to hire ever, ever again.

My vocabulary word for the day: coulrophobia.

Clowns are boring. I get those ads too though.

Not really a fear but images of John Wayne Gacy in his clown getup give me the creeps because he was the real deal as far as an evil clown.

Nah.. (normal) clowns are fine. Kids love them. Horror movies' clowns are creepy version of clowns with over exaggerated make-ups. You can make any profession creepy by using make-ups, like creepy doctors, creepy nuns, creepy cashiers, creepy boyscouts... anyone really.

There is something innately creepy about clowns. Just like there's something innately creepy about dolls.

Some dolls may trigger uneasiness because of "uncanny valley," same as humanoid robots and (bad) CGI animations.

Normal dolls are alright. Kids also love them.

That's why I don't like most horror movies. They are silly and more annoying than scary. Yes, the clown in IT is creepy, but like I said earlier he had exaggerated make ups. A random person on the street wearing that make up will also be creepy. What's the point?

The doll in Chucky was creepy. Well, any doll with creepy face is creepy. Carcasses look creepy, mutilation victims look creepy, people with really bad skin condition look creepy. It's normal. There's nothing scary about the movie itself. I just don't get what's so interesting about the (jumpscare) horror genre.

Sorry about the rant.
