The Database is not complete!

For example The Matrix only has posts going back 9 months and so does The Shining.

If I'm not mistaken, imdb used to delete older threads on some boards. So, maybe they were like that on imdb right before it shut down

reply

Serious question,why does it matter?

I'm not being a dick,I'm just wondering.

reply

So you are basically being a d!ck?

reply

Oh god! Is it my turn today?

Ok I will play. What is it in my post that makes you think that I am being a d!ck?

reply

I'm not being a dick ,I'm just wondering.

reply

That doesn't make sense.

reply

Never write that you are not being something because it will come off like you being it. It was a similar wording phrase that MissMargo had in her post yesterday. She had written "I am not trying to be snotty" and it reflected that. No one would care to point it out if you never wrote it.

reply

Please don't assume that you know better my intentions than I do.I think this is where you got yourself snarled up yesterday.

Since my post wasn't addressed to you and I expressed a genuine question as to why we need the whole history of any IMDb message board here,I feel you should step away from the conversation. At least my contribution to it.

reply

*sigh*

I guess it really affects me when I see people challenging other people. I feel like it would be offensive to me, if it were directed to me.

reply

I wasn't challenging them but asking a genuine question.

Which is why....sigh....I put the bit about NOT being a dick and it being a serious question.

Maybe you have the answer? Why do you think it matters to have a complete copy of the IMDb message boards here? I can see how it would attract ex board members in the early days but it's four months down the line and hopefully people are creating new threads by now.

I remember there was a baby rabbit once, kept side glancing me while I was mowing my lawn and it some how hopped its way into my garage. One day I thought I would scare it off, to allow it to get back to the great outdoors. Suddenly, it disappeared under my lawn mower (this was when it was turned off and in my garage) and I thought I would carefully lift up the mower. While I did that, it looked up at me :'(, the backflap holding its ears down, keeping it from running off. It looked so afraid, just looking up. I was holding it down.

Every day I think of me being a person that can stop conflicts; however, it appears I just have to let people be people, without intervening.

I think psychologically that moment scarred me. I just need to let things go. That baby rabbit did survive until the day I saw it smashed on my doorstep by a UPS guy (could not say if it was the guy, but I had a box waiting for me outside.)

The point of this tale is to think all of us our rabbits, wanting to get out from under the mower (out of conflicts I see). No, I was not going to kill that thing; however, I wish I could be as free as I was, to allow that rabbit to roam.

Oh the rabbit...

(This actually happened, I am not trolling.)

reply

I'm really not against your wish to intervene if you think someone is being abused on here.I'd do the same.

It just isn't the case here.Believe it or not.

reply

Oh the rabbit Dazed...the rabbit. If only I could have done something to save it......

I mean it lost its mother, clearly. It had no home and I would have rather it just died naturally.

I hate whoever smashed it!

reply

Arvin, do you think perhaps it committed suicide to get away from your endless deliberating about how to help it, but ultimately not doing anything, and jumped from a high surface?

Before you get them twisted, that was a joke. Only a joke.

Serious question: couldn't you have put on gloves, gently picked it up, and placed it outside, or perhaps in the woods, where it might have been "adopted" by another rabbit? Not being a rabbit expert, I honestly don't know.

As far as Dazed's comment want, I'd venture to guess that perhaps 99.9% of those who read it knew exactly what was being said, with nobody thinking Dazed was being a dick. Employing basic math, that leaves .1% who did...guess who?

I know your intentions are meant to be helpful and aren't intended to be nasty, smarmy, or nitpicky, but sometimes they come off as so. Usually, in a post like this, if someone says they're not trying to be something, one can safely take them at their word. Exceptions, of course, would be politicians, insurance companies, Wall St. execs, a large number of lawyers and bankers, and, of course, bennie.

reply

Once my scent is on that baby rabbit, it probably would have been best to let it struggle. I think, even with gloves, any rabbit would still know. This is why you never touch wildlife or so I have heard. There is nothing I could do in that situation. It is one of those situations I had to be in and learn from. You cannot control everything because the universe just works as it should.

Thank you naps 😀

And that is where you must come in. You are the one, who can bring a thread, to the near present time. The only catch is you must be the one to either respond to one or create your own.

reply

Okay!

Like i did😉

You're on the wrong boards. This is not a database. It's a movie chat. Why the hell would you want to reply/chat with posts of people who are not even here? It's like talking to the dead. I don't get it. We don't need all the old posts.

I only reply to current users posts, unless my post is going to incite new replies by replying to an old imdb post (which is a rare opportunity).
