I actually (thought I) hated Pulp Fiction, and Tarantino in general, before I had even seen it! (Blame the geeks who wanted to seem cool by fanboying over an extremely violent movie). But then I saw Reservoir Dogs and loved it and knew I had to give Pulp Fiction a chance as well, which completely changed my mind. I'm back to hating Tarantino, though.

There are also several movies form the 70s and early 80s I had trouble watching all the way through back in the 90s because of the depressing-looking low video quality, but I have no problem watching and enjoying them now. The Godfather, for example.

Pulp Fiction... disliked it in my teens, went back to it at 24 and loved it ever since, and then got around to watching all of Tarantino's films shortly thereafter.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2001, Insidious and Predator 2.

I saw Harry Potter in theaters and didn't care for it. Now I like all the films.


I was hesitant to watch true romance based on its title, and was pleasantly surprised.

Going back a bit....
The Brendan Fraser Mummy movies. I was disappointed that they weren't really horror, but eventually found them to be fun little adventure movies.
