I joined here I think it was the night before IMDB comments closed down. Just like on IMDB haven't posted much in latter years due to work schedule and being busy in general but I do lurk on here every now and then. Loving this place but forcing myself to manage how long I spend on here at a time because I can spend hours just reading through comments in turn getting distracted. When I get more spare time I want to try and post at least 2 or 3 comments every day and contribute more. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2001, Insidious and Predator 2. I'm one of those. I only found out about this place by chance a few hours before IMDB closed down via a link from a regular poster. I don't think I would have made the effort to search for an alternative had I not made that final visit to one of my favourite message boards. If certain films get discussed in the general discussion section, maybe the convo could be merged onto the respected films message board. This might be a way to get the ball rolling. Couldn't agree more. Almost did it last night from google out of habit. Nope, not happening again. Ahh another to add to the 'Still not seen list'. I think I might join you at the grave never seeing any of them lol I was lucky to watch this show right after the series finished and can say, Breaking Bad is seriously addictive and a must watch. Just make sure you avoid spoilers, don't even type in a characters name in google as the drop down search bar usually says 'dies'. A fake spoiler almost ruined my whole viewing experience, luckily for me it was a troll on a wind up making the end even more enjoyable after believing I already knew what would happen at the end. The shining is not a typical scary horror movie, it will leave you confused and things might not make sense. The first thing you'll notice are the visuals, they'll stick with you for years. You will then notice something new on repeated viewings that will leave you asking more questions. The shining message board was a great place to go, there are things that some posters would post that nobody had noticed before. Stephen King wasn't happy with Kubrik's version of his book so made his own tv mini series in 1997. It's faithful to his book and good in it's own right but Kubrik's version is memorable. I grew up with the Kubrik film before learning about King's book so I'm slightly biased towards the film. I highly recommend AAWIL. I heard a remake is in the works so you prob might wanna see the original first. I remember The Matrix hype and advertising back in '99 with the slow motion special effects. I didn't understand what all the fuss was but that was my ignorance. I had the same attitude towards Lord of the rings until I got round to seeing it which is on reason why I will give the Harry Potter series a try. Just a matter of when lol. I think An American Werewolf In London and The Shining were the first films to make me discover IMDB and the message boards. View all replies >
