I've been away from this site for less than 24 hours, and the trolls have come out of the woodwork.

These trolls are coming out at a rapid pace, which is in some part is great that this site is growing, but within a few minutes I have seen so many troll posts and impersonators. It upsets me that we have a great thing going on here and people who have nothing better to do with their time decide to spend it on posts which clearly are an attempt to stir the pot. These aren't trolls anymore, they're a**holes.

Makes you wonder how pathetic their lives are and how abused and/or neglected they must have been growing up, and how worthless, lonely, and empty their present lives must be. They certainly don't do their selves any justice, and just look like losers. This is a nice site, and it would take an ingrate, with no life or sense of self-worth, to want or try to ruin that.

Don't ever even acknowledge a troll, as it just encourages them. If everyone 100% freezes them out, they'll have no fun, and get no satisfaction, so will eventually go find something more satisfying to do to fill their time.

Great advice. There will undoubtedly always be someone who doesn't realize what's going on and takes the bait, but the less food thrown out, the less interested they'll become.

Funny thing is, what happened yesterday was started by trolls themselves. Two days ago one of them started a thread "Automated Moderation", obviously in hope that people would agree that it was a good idea. But people disagreed, and started talking that having mods would be better.

The moment mods were mentioned, trolls panicked and soon they started insulting people. The gloves were off.

After that, yesterday's meltdown happened.

So, if they didn't start "Automated moderation" thread, none of it would've happened. Why they did it, I don't know. In a long run, they were working against themselves.

At least they're obvious, at least on the individual boards for films. Half the time when I click on a trending movie the latest message is so stupid there's no doubt it's a troll.
