did you come here for message board freedom or not?

a demand that "trollish" posts be taken down?

who is to judge? not all anger or disagreement is posted by a troll.

so let jim do it (when he has time)?

ah-ha! there goes your proper freedom!

those colonies had freedom, and they still can't sort it out.

During my time with IMDB, I've learned to ignore the trolls...although it's fun to "feed" them every now and then. Sometimes, I just can't resist it! ;)

reply

LOL -- agreed!!

reply

Feeding trolls to me is a waste of time.

reply

I have to agree with you...although "feeding" them can be just a little fun sometimes. LOL!

reply

😂😂😂😂😂

reply

sorry... can't help laughing

reply

We all gotta have fun sometimes! :)

reply

Awwwn , you sound so motherly :)

reply

They're kind of like forum pets...play with them a bit and then throw them out when you get bored with them...lol.

reply

Hahahaha!!! Couldn't have said it any better! A spot on post right there! LOL!

reply

LoL...thanks jmc! Oh dear, I can't believe I spelled "They're" wrong, I'll fix that right now. Embarrassing! 😲

reply

No worries...it happens to the best of us! So far, I have been typing out my posts and replies from my desktop computer. I used my smartphone earlier, but fought with that pesky "autocorrect" a few times as well. Looks like I'll be turning that feature off more sooner than later! LOL!

reply

Yeah, you're right about that. What's ironic though is bad spelling is one of my peeves...especially with words like: they're, their, there and the like. I know there's several more that have the same sound with different spelling but that was an example since I screwed up with: there & they're.

Yes, I ALWAYS turn off my auto correct...I hate it! On FB, I type with a slang so auto-correct gets in my way a lot.

reply

I tend to be picky with my spelling as well but will also sometimes rely on the spelling suggestions feature within our browsers in the event that I misspell a word or simply type it out wrong. I suppose you can say that it's laziness on my part, but I often consider it a matter of convenience sometimes. LOL!

As for autocorrect, they should just get rid of it, because I really don't know a person that actually likes it at this point.

reply

Nothing wrong with being lazy...I'm the queen of laziness...lol! 😉

reply

who is the judge?

reply

The way I see it is if you are going to be ashamed of what you post then don't post it. I bet anything the single person complaining is the one who did it. Trolls are known to hide and some troll thought he could have one last moment of fun before IMDB was deleted. He was proven wrong and now fussing about it or just wanting more attention.

reply

exactly -- not having a go at anyone, just refreshing the topic.

reply

I couldn't have said it any better! Well said!

reply

A big thanks to Jim for all his work. Anyone who is complaining should offer to help Jim or shut up.

reply

well put!

reply

Great post, Faridah!

reply

Are y'all referring to the poster that didn't want their posts "republished"?

you are perfectly righteous.

It's kind of a waste to have people come on here just to put something up to elicit a reaction. I come on here because I am curious about a question that I need answered. All you get with trolling is side stepping or someone who thinks they know an answer to a question and then they start slamming curse words or they write down to you. Man, I just wanted an answer to my question so I could enjoy some good conversation. I think if someone continue to derail conversations just to be a keyboard warrior, they need to be banned. Freedom is only good if it is regulated to some extent. Humans are naturally wicked. -Thomas Hobbes

Does "freedom" really exist on any site? Considering half our population is fairly dumb, what would be the benefit of that for the grownups (such as the person who built this site?) (Not speaking for St. Jim, just assuming he doesn't want his new site descending into being a total zoo.)
