Does Anyone Here Actually Go to Movie Theaters Anymore?

Haven't been to one since 2007

The last movie I actually saw in a theater was Gary Oldman's movie Darkest Hour. Otherwise it's been years.

But why is cinema popcorn so expensive?

I've only been 5 times since the century turned.

The Revenant

And that Thread movie that just came out.

I don't because they're way too expensive to go anymore, plus today's movies are IMO nowhere near as good as they once were.

I've been lucky so far with Movie Pass. I average about 6 or 7 movies a month.

i go fairly regularly, probably an average of twice a month. but i generally go to see arthouse films at the snobby theatre down the street. not that i have highbrow tastes, necessarily. i occasionally go check out the big blockbusters.

while there are annoyances that come with the theatre experience (noisy teens, texting, all of it) i still think nothing replaces the impact of a big screen projection. i think it's the best way to see almost any film, and i can't think of any film i've seen that didn't gain from being viewed that way.
