California's 543 billion deficit makes no sense

With a gross state profit of 3.2 trillion, I just don't get why California can't cover their costs?

Is it the fact that silicon valley uses tax havens?

reply

California federal taxes probably go to red states which leech off blue states since they are so poor and can't support themselves.

reply

Could be. I don't know much about revenue raising for states.

I know sales tax is state and that's about it.

reply

Blue states would be richer if they didn't lose billions by supporting the poorer red states.

My problem is people from red states not showing any gratitude and insulting blue states after they take a handout from them.

Are you retarded? Link cards and welfare are the main sources of income for a majority of democrat households. The right is usually well educated, business owners, or workaholics. If anything, the thanks should go to the middle class since they pay tax for both the rich and the poor. This is why lots of center-left individuals have shifted right. No one wants to be on the side of stupid!

reply

lol you put be retarded. yes they shifted right so that's why trump won by 5 million votes.. oh right..

reply

Once you said, "probably", it was clear you were just talking out of your ass, 50 cent komrade. Provide some proof to your horseshit next time.

Thats how liberal bureaucracy works. The best job in California is to work for the State. Great money, great benefits, get every holiday off plus all the new ones. All the money goes to illegals and state workers, including Pelosi.

I guarantee saggy boobs and casper pass the biggest stimulus bill next year, with the majority of it going to States.

Private employees made a great deal of progress for decades with strong salaries and benefits for the average Joe. Around the late 1970s, there was a very strong pushback from business owners and rich people to change laws, taxes, regulations and public opinion to favor themselves over the working and middle-class. That's why salaries have been stagnant, taxes lowered for the rich, attack on pensions, unions, benefits, etc.

Their MO is to get simple-minded folks to scapegoat civil servants and illegals when it's the rich who get richer on the backs of everyone else.

One example: the 2018 taxcut for the rich will have those making less than $100k paying more in taxes starting in 2021. Each year, your taxes will continue to rise. That's not gov. workers or illegals. That's the rich saying "Screw you!"

Retire at age 50. Then become a private contractor for the government and get paid for the same job while receiving your retirement. Order everyone in the state to stay home on thanksgiving and watch Netflix while you and your friends gather at your daily stop at some Napa Valley 27 star restaurant. Sidewalks doubling as toilets in your finest cities. Promise free everything. Let the state burn down and blame a mythical climate disruption.

Great place to live.

Tree hugging causes fires that cost billions each year to put out.

California isn't progressive. It's always been republican-lite. The taxes don't go to helping the working class. It's corporate bailouts on top of corporate welfare.

reply

Again, ultra white guilt is talking out his ass too.

California has state unions. Teacher's union. Cal-Trans. DWP. Even Police an Fire. They all still have antiquated pension programs and cadillac benefits. Who pays for this? The big cities and the state. So when these people retire on a 100% pension, who pays for them? CA taxpayers.

So what is CA paying for with their tax revenue besides this? A bullet train to nowhere. Additional cleaning service to the homeless. Needles to the homeless. Welfare to illegals. Inefficient social service for welfare recipients. Deep layers of bureaucracy.

As people leave, they're tax revenue will shrink. As the Sac Bee stated, they are anticipated a $20 billion surplus budget surplus next year, but a huge budget deficit after that.

Some cities are Repub lite. Those are the ones that clearly state they are not a sanctuary city. The ones that do, are full on leftist cities like San Fran and LA. That's why they are shithole tent cities now.

reply

I disagree. They voted for Bernie Sanders so I would think they're more progressive than one realizes.

reply

Oh absolutely the voters are progressive. Progressive candidates always beat corporate dems if it's a fair contest. But such progressive politicians get no support from the DNC and get massively outspent by people like Feinstein and a guy who was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, lmao.

So California continues being run by corporate democrats that don't give two shits about the working class.

reply

$54.3B... NOT $543B... Big diff.
