Where do you get your books?

Library? Book store? Thrift shop? Trade with friends?

I almost always get my books from thrift shops.

reply

Usually book stores, especially ones that sell used books. I haven't used a library for years, although they can be useful. I have probably around a hundred books on my bookshelf to read, lol.

Occasionally, I buy an e-book on Kindle, like if I really can't wait to go out and find the next book in a series, but I still prefer physical books.

E-books from the library can be great too. Oh so easy. :) I agree though that physical books are the best.

We have a discount bookstore chain in my city called Half Priced Books, I get some books there.
I have gotten some books in yard sales in my neighborhood and I occasionally buy new books at the bookstore.

Same here. I haven't been there in a while but they have an excellent selection of books, CDs, DVDs, etc. I could spend hours there.

I borrow books from the library. I rarely buy books; I can't even remember the last time I did. I read them pretty quickly and then what? They mostly sit on a shelf. When I was in my early 20s I did buy quite a few, so I ended up with too many. I've spent the last couple of years slowly getting rid of them - passing them on or donating. I have a few that I'll keep forever, though.

Physical bookstores, Amazon, 3rd-party sellers through Amazon, Barnes & Noble (the real bookstore), Half-Price Books, and maybe one or two other stores out there.
