Aboriginal abuse happened all across the country and it is a story that needs to be told. I think this is focusing more on residential school abuse from the last 100 years up until a couple of decades ago. The story is being told with sympathy for the survivors of the abuse. I'm not sure how balanced it is but you do seem to get one side. The H.O.T. is an ongoing thing that has happened in our lifetimes and could still be happening today. The highway of tears is in British Columbia on the other side of the country whereas this is situated in Quebec. They could have taken a plane and have it malfunction and crash. That would have worked. Yep, I know They will kill your family, too. That scene probably cost 5 million dollars so I'm sure no one wanted to criticize And now they are altering the viewer ratings on the shows they create so we can even get honest review ratings for shows One of your local homeless people wandered on to the set, set up his tent and they couldn't bear to tell him to leave so they just ran the camera and told the actors to ad-lib with him It's what happens when you give one man way too much money. They always end up squandering it on stupid projects Yep. I'm having a real problem with the 'new' elves. They are being painted more like men than elves. I always had the impression that elves were 'fair' folk, even having a luminescence about them. We haven't had that in the media version. Even in the LOTR Maybe Brady is a demon and not really human. A lot of actors got their starts by going on game shows. I've seen a few familiar faces as contestants over the years. I think they also show up as IMDB credits Some people like solitude Yes, the girl was the same. Fausto has said just before that scene that he was going to start following Linder so it was fortunate timing She's very "human". Yes, I'll agree she is very annoying but she has issues and the real world would call her schizophrenic, I think. She is also very self destructive never being satisfied with what she has and always wanting more (boredom and lack of gratitude are two of her destructive tendencies). I think this drives the plot though. She's not my favorite character and I probably wouldn't hang out with her in real life as our ideologies would clash pretty hard I think. I don't think we'd like each other. I started watching this out of curiosity but got hooked by the concept. I'm more interested in watching the show for that than the characters. I'll see season two through the end and if a 3rd season comes along I may or may not stick with it but these are all definitely flawed characters and I'm pretty sure they want it to be that way. I found the reveals to be dragged out a bit too much. You can sort of tell they were low on plot and just trying to get people hooked on the series in order to sell season 2 and beyond. They've built a good framework after episode 6 (where I am) but they need more filler and maybe a bit quicker pacing. I assume they will get a bigger writing budget in season 2 if it goes that far. They already have 3 or 4 subplots that could easily be expanded on. This is very much a slice of life sci-fi and most people's lives, especially older folks, have lives that are slowing down. The two stars have done most of the heavy lifting in regards to entertainment and you would need to be an older person to relate to most of that. I'm not there yet but I'm getting there and I can relate to the feelings they are throwing off. I think we can blame the pacing on the budget If you watch to the end you will understand why they chose him for the role. I think he was typecast specifically for the end of the movie and no other reason :D I think that was either a modern twilight zone or outer limits episode I had to laugh at that kiss. Who Autumn ended up being was really off-putting. They don't even have the same facial features. Autumn's mouth was completely different
