Jaime: never redeemed himself, Bryanne brought out a lot of good in him and reminded him of who he wanted to be - but he was never truly changed. Cercei: Dany caused the cave in, so technically she did kill her. And depending on how you look at it, it is a great death for her: no epic, memorable death, nobody to witness it and retell it, no special treatment; just fear and being buried by what she tried to hold on to the most. Varys: has always just wanted what is best for the realm - he said so and acted on it since season 1 (conversation with Ned in the jail cell). Arya: has been a killer but always cared about people even during her training. And I‘m sure that fighting the dead, having something to live for again and seeing all the destruction and suffering around her, would definitely make her care. Bron: has made it clear through out all of the seasons that while considering Tyrion a friend, there‘d be nothing he wouldn’t do if the price was right. He also refused to fight the Mountain for Tyrion because he knew that he would not survive it. Bran: actually not as useless as you think. He‘s been manipulating people left and right. Think about everything that happened because he dropped just enough information to just the right person at just the right time...he has been working it from behind the scenes in a VERY calculated way...without his manipulations many things would have been different. Euron: actually he didn’t die off camera, we saw his last breath (him staring at the sky seemingly happy that he mortally wounded Jaime Lannister). Undead Army: everyone is complaining that it was too fast but the last Battle was just the last stand. The war has been going on for years (first just north of the wall against Wildlings, later also against the crows, then everyone between the wall and Winterfell). And since the dead don’t need sleep or food and all fought on the same command (either stop or go) there was no other outcome /cont. next post Well, you pretty much answered your own question. She was always pretty impulsive and impatient- she only made more long term decisions because of her original Advisors. Also, she was given illusions by them. Saying how things would be. That people would want her, needed her etc...and then when she gets there, they don’t. Then she loses everyone...and all of her original friends and advisors. The only ones left she feels she can’t trust - one openly talks treason and the other has continuously given her advice that backfired- and the last one would have the right to replace her and rejects her love. And then deciding to rule by fear is also a decision made for the long term. While I agree that the timing we see on screen has been rushed, the time that logically past (also has been hinted at in the show) is not unreasonable for her descend of mental state. And even a person who has seemed to be a strong and confident character can break down...she had plenty reasons to and no support left (again, in her mind). I don’t know why people want every situation to be a perfect „hero movie“ situation for GOT. GOT has always shown people as people. Good people do bad stuff, bad people good stuff; the best fighter loses a hand because it happened, he couldn’t manage to get his full skills back because he just couldn’t (lack of time to train, probably would have taken many years under non-rushed circumstances) - this all plays out the way it does because that’s how life is...not to please fans, to give them „a good show“. I mean, he has traveled for weeks, the realm has little resources, he probably felt exhausted, he just wanted to get to Cercei...why should there have been „a epic fight“ between the two? That’s so cliche. Well...since Jon will probably kill Dany, and Jon doesn’t want the throne, maybe she’ll show up, tell him how much she regretted having been so cruel to him and then take the power herself :p I‘m sure that would be a total show-winner! Jon is stubborn in his beliefs, while, in time, he maybe would have come around, she only sees the now and rejection. Not far fetched at all. About having saved the people from the undead. You think people that have not been near there would know or believe any of that? They’ve never seen a walker, or a wight - they think of all of that as legends from long ago. People don’t care about a threat that they’ve never experienced and don’t have to worry about anymore. And the people who where there, didn’t (in her eyes) respect her and appreciated her role in saving them - they all want Jon...who, again, in her mind, rejected her now too. She didn’t go there to rule Kings Landing only, that’s just the capital city - but to rule all of Westeros. The other cities have plenty of living people left who will hear of it. I mainly agree with you. But I guess people are discussing it because, whether calculated or not, it’s still madness. So the “why”s do matter. And since the pacing is off or at least not explained well, most feel that this is rushed (even though, if one calculates the time, it actually makes sense). I don’t think that Arya will kill her though - I think Jon will (or should). He was appalled by what she has done, it would warrant a death sentence for anyone else, and Starks always do the dirty work themselves. They went the same way that they came in 🤷‍♀️ Have you seen all 10 episodes yet? And probably because she was told before that she’d need armys and ships (to get them across) and she didn’t really know the damage that she could do. And, as was mentioned, to not burn everything down - she couldn’t have known if the city would surrender or not before all that. I guess that’s why they didn’t put it in the show. When mentioning the seer and her prophesies, they just mentioned her marriage, three children that will all die and her being overthrown by a younger, more beautiful queen. Nothing about the valonqar if I remember correctly. Well, the pacing definitely sucks from what they show, but comments and hints have been dropped here and there for how much time has passed. The ships where traveling for a couple of weeks, then was the meeting, then the journey back to Dragonstone, then it was mentioned to Jon that Dany has not left Dragonstone or has eaten in days, then the trip back to Kingslanding and the army camping there... so it’s been a few weeks at the very least. If Arya and Sandor where riding without much rest, guess it could be possible- but the passing of time obviously wasn’t explained/shown well... Those who are close to her and where visibly shocked by what she has done. Jon, Davos, Tyrion... Jon being the best candidate, as he is also friendly with the Dragon. Should be just fire - maybe with a lot of (air)pressure as well. I wonder if she will feel any remorse at all in the next episode. (If even just in private). And somehow yet very endearing lol 😂 Hahaha, I read your comment (didn’t look at the name) and thought: Oh boy, that sounds like Otter lol ;) And dying by what he feared the most... Well, as she told Tyrion; she basically didn’t care about those people, just the future she’d secure for them. When someone has a goal, the line that would “not be crossed” often gets moved by self serving reasoning. As they explained after the credit/previews. She felt betrayed by everyone and she took it all personal. After next week we’ll all be done with it :p
