Ending makes up for it, the final fight

I, like so many posts here, had so much trouble with the plot holes and the time travel (which always has plot holes) and how so many efforts were wasted, or how they could have just used a C4 to begin with etc, but that ending fight with the female made it all worth it... the slashing, the smashing, the toxin melt, etc.

And when the dad FINALLY (and how he even knew oh well) had the "they can smell blood from a mile away" come into play, I was like, just that, FINALLY!!!

Yeah I actually loved the ending.

I didn’t love the reason they were there (muh military can’t do it because of politics), and from what I hear from others this was a distraction they couldn’t buy into.

But I also think it’s a reality that the military industrial complex doesn’t want to eliminate the source, because they’re dependent on selling weapons. Aliens are good for business. I’d love them to go into that deeper in the sequel, because this movie glossed over it and only left viewers confused.

yeah that was a huge one for me. I mean the consequences if they failed were basically apocalyptic and there sure as hell wouldn't have been a backup plan. Even the most arrogant assholes on the planet probably would have stopped and figured this is probably a bit bigger than us.

The movie had many issues. But that final boss level fight is among the best I've seen. Multiple rounds, a worthy adversary, two or three false finishes. I especially like that they never assumed they won prematurely... which is a MAJOR annoyance in these types of situations.

Yeah I liked that.

It made me think "Who would win between a xenomoprh and the white tails?"

Ripping her own limb off was badass

What I enjoyed about this fight is that characters did not narrate their actions for the benefit of the audience. Pratt didn't yell out "she's blind!"

That said, the final act in the ship was pretty dumb, much like the rest of the movie.
