Spoilery Question - Disguise Issue?

Did I completely miss it or did they explain why Hayley Atwell's eyes weren't green-blue when she went in disguise as White Widow (Vanessa Kirby)? It was weird seeing Vanessa with brown eyes since they're usually very bright green-blue. Anyone that had spent any time with her, especially her close henchman and the Director who knew her from youth, would've been taken aback by the drastic color change.

Nope, it's not explained. And in fact, as a movie mistake, it's even worse than you suggest:

(a) we KNOW the IMF team uses contact lenses for that exact purpose and

(b) Kittridge knows what the White Widow looks like AND knows about the IMF's mask-tech, so he should've seen through it immediately

Kittridge even reacted to his own face on Ethan's head with an exasperated "of COURSE you've got a mask of me" (I'm paraphrasing)

It's also become clear that everyone in the intelligence community knows about IMF's mask-tech. Sloane even snarked that the IMF was playing "Halloween" with their masks.

Honestly, I thought Kittridge DID realize he was talking to Grace at some point, but I was wrong

But it was a minor concern in what I viewed as an otherwise great flick

EDIT: Oh, it also occurred to me that Kittridge saw her as a little girl, and kids' eye color can change from blue to brown as they age. But it's only in their early years; Alanna was nine when Kittridge last saw her.

Honestly, I think McQ did it on purpose so the audience wouldn't get confused.

Oh and one last defense: Kittridge has always had the attitude that IMF agents, Ethan especially, are beyond his own ability to anticipate.

"What do you want to do, put a man at the airport? These people are trained to be ghosts. We trained them!"

So maybe he just doesn't try too hard.

Lame excuse, though, I know

I mean her mannerisms kinda gave her away but he still went with it? Seems like a minor macguffin where the object is Kittridge's pure retardedness to push the plot forward, lol. I mean c'mon he got tricked more than once, especially in the enclosed meeting with the DNI director and other intel community directors.

The white widow’s “close henchman” is Zola Mitsopolis, her own brother. So it was doubly inconceivable he wouldn’t notice his sister’s eyes were the wrong color.

Kittridge and the whole IMF team should take a cue from Jasper Briggs(Shea Whigham) and just constantly pull on everyone's face to make sure it isn't a mask. Hilarious recurring bit, by the way!
