Worth watching?

7 episodes have aired already. That's more than enough to make a fair judgment. To what show would you compare it?

reply

The closest thing I would say is Lost.

reply

Erm... I disagree. Sure, the planet seem to have some secrets not dissimilar to the Island in Lost but I don't think that's what the show is about.
Look at it this way: you take away everything mysterious in Lost and there's nothing to watch. But RbW can still be good without the whispers and little kid-golems running around.

So which series is it more like than Lost?

reply

Take a pick of your post-apocalypse\conquest of a new world series and cross it with something like Caprica in which the questions of God and creation were raised.
Or something...

reply

Exactly like the fucking Lost!
Imma call it now - A Giant Cork inside the planet for series finale.

I'm not sure what I'd compare it to. Sorta like if the "Ex Machina" robot went on to have kids.
I like that it keeps some of the backstory a mystery and reveals bits of it over time, but also doesn't rely on us knowing the ins and outs of that society beyond the main conflicts.

My issue mostly lies with the characters. They just feel silly a lot of the time.
Ep 6 and onward has them do some very dumb shit...

And seriously, why didn't they put fences around their living area? ffs. You'd think they'd have it in their programming, lol...

As for whether or not I'd recommend it... Yeah, why not? Give it a go.
You can't really know until you watch it if it's something you'd enjoy or not.

Fences for what?

reply

It started well but now it's kind of muddy.
