DISNEY+ LIMITED SERIES.

reply

Yeah but with a movie budget.

Well, Disney owns Marvel, and Disney knows how to play the long game. They've made some great Marvel and Star Wars limited series for Disney+, including "The Mandalorian" and "Wandavision" and "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", because they want to dominate the streaming market and for that they need to lure in subscribers with unique and fabulous content. They've spent big bucks on these things, but they plan to earn it all back and then some, and they probably will.

Because I don't know if the movie theater industry is ever coming back to the point where it'll be worthwhile to spend $300 million on a movie that'll earn a billion back. Even if I hadn't broken the shit out of my leg, I woulnd't be going to movie theaters.

Yes.
And yesterday I saw this big online banner ad that said "Loki is streaming NOW." False advertising because no, it wasn't. I connected to Disney+ and found that the show wouldn't be on for another day.

it sucks because most people are not going to get disney+ just to watch this, will have to wait til it hits redbox or something like that...

reply

Well as at the moment shows like WandaVision and The Mandalorian do not yet have DVD/Blu-Ray release dates and RedBox deals with DVD/Blu-Ray then neither of them can be watched via RedBox I highly doubt Loki would be available via RedBox anytime soon.

Besides, many people will wait until all of the episodes have been released then pay 9 bucks to watch them all. Btw, 9 bucks is cheaper than renting 3 Blue-Rays from RedBox and for that 9 bucks you can watch it several times over a month.
