Michelle Williams is nailing it
I was never a big fan of Williams, but boy she is nailing it as Gwen Verdon. Definitely an Emmy contender for this.

I think she was in The Station Agent. I didn't quite get why she would befriend Dinklage so whole-heartedly. She seemed like a ding-dong small town girl, which didn't ring true for me.
But here, she looks like Shirley Maclaine ! I almost wish SM could come back and play this role. Not the biggest Shirley fan (not much range) but she's an icon. She's the only one who is like her.

shareMichelle W had a very notable role in The Station Agent. She played some sort of small town librarian (iirc) and befriended Dinklage and maybe the food truck guy. She would sit there and chatter away un-selfconsciously (sp). Why she would do so one may not understand, but she represented the best of humanity by not having any judgments on these people.

The whole production is fantastic and she is brilliant.
She played Glinda in Oz the Great and Powerful, which was difficult because it's harder to play a wholely good character.
Yes, she really did a great job with the role, deserved to win the Emmy, and did.
