Roseanne Barr not at all happy how her character is killed off 'The Conners'

It's no secret that Barr's character "Roseanne Conner" is killed off the show, and the cast addresses this in the first episode of the season. Barr has said she's not too happy about her character being killed off (so she has no chance of returning in the future) - she'd rather she was just 'written off' the show, but let the character stay alive off-camera.

Barr sat down for an interview this weekend and tells how they got rid of 'Roseanne Conner' .
“Oh ya, they killed her. They have her die of an opioid overdose. It wasn’t enough to [fire me], they had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show,” she said.
Well isn't that just too gosh dang bad....maybe she should have kept her mouth closed in the first place...she needs to realize how lucky she was...not everyone gets a TV show handed to them AGAIN after being an ass in the media etc all those years ago...

Kind of mundane for a comedy show.

They should have had her get dragged under a bus or something.

Pretty insulting. Where's this show supposed to go starting off on such an ugly footing? I can only see the move turning off most of the fanbase. Roseanne's careless tweet is already ancient history buried under all this Stormy & Kavenagh drama. Total over reaction from the network.

It's television anything can happen. Dan was resurrected in the new the series.

Maybe they'll bring her back as a zombie for a Halloween episode. Remember when TGIF was fun?

Newhart can do it...So can Roseanne

Too bad they don't have a spine. It could actually be funny by having her go out in a blaze of glory on the show, I'm picturing the bank robbery gone bad scene in The Town. I never watched a minute of the original show but I'd love to watch Roseanne walking through the streets all pissed off and grizzled. A duffle bag of money strapped to her back as she battles with the police.

Who give a **** what Roseanne wants. I am sure everyone would have wanted Roseanne not to be a foul mouthed hating lunatic who has to let everyone in the world know how stupid she is and bring negative attention on her business and everyone else's job and career.

reply

Yeah, she should have left the show to go take a job inside the Trump administration as the Secretary of Education, in keeping with how qualified all the rest of Trump's appointees are.

Personally, I think plot wise it made sense as Roseanne clearly had an addiction to the meds in last season reboot.
I agree with the user who said that she should have appreciate what she had. I was in the belief she would go to Jerusalem and not speak about the Conners?
People forget that Roseanne is no angel, there are several people who has reported she was rude and unpleasant in the original show run. Jennifer Saunders from Absolutely fabulous said in an interview that when they did a Ab Fab/Roseanne crossover on an episode of Roseanne, Roseanne did not even say a word to her, she totally ignored her and Joana Lumley, not even a hello. On the other hand Laurie Metcalf was very pleasant.
There are plenty of stories like that about Roseanne just being a miserable, unpleasant person who fired people in an heart beat.
