Vader’s hatred for Obi-Wan

Is Vader’s hatred for Obi-Wan stem from Obi-Wan turning Padme against him or is it because he left him for dead when the lava consumed him?

reply

Probably the latter I’m guessing. He lost the fight didn’t he, he was a bad loser.

reply

He lost overall but there's plenty of positives he could take from it

Seriously, you can't figure of why he doesn't like him?

I LOL'ed at this big time, but there's a point to be made that Vader needs to be CONSUMED with hate and anger just to keep himself alive, much less powerful.

Not even Obi Wan's Mustafar BBQ could keep him going that long.

I recall a non-canon comic where Vader faced off with a cloned Maul and wiped the floor with him. When Maul outright asked Vader whom could he possibly HATE so much to give him all that dark side power, Vader answered, "myself."

Vader's rage is a lot like Banner's in the first Avengers film - he has to be righteously pissed all the time to give him his power (or in Banner's case, to control his power). Luckily, Vader has himself and Palpatine to fill him with rage and hate whenever he needs it.

Obi-Wan MAINMED him and Anakin (falsely) believed he was trying to steal Padme away from him and my man is like, "Why does Vader hate Obi-Wan?"

Even before some of the books and comics - both canon and non-canon - I felt that way about his hate. He is FILLED WITH rage. Not just angry, but filled with HATE. The Marvel comics do a really good job of showing it.
